Jade: I bought this after reading Gazipura's 'Not Nice', which was hugely transformative and has changed my life in many ways. This book doesn't quite reach the standard of 'Not Nice' - maybe because it's a bit more scattered and broad in its subject matter - but there were parts that will definitely stay with me and overall, the book has made a difference to my confidence levels.
The chapters on 'Money', 'Love' and 'Action' were the most well-written and emotionally affecting - I like how Gazipura uses anecdotes from his own life and reveals his vulnerabilities and struggles rather than just preaching what he believes. I hadn't ever considered how a lack of confidence seeps into every area of life, and looking at the issue from many different angles was interesting, and empowering.
One thing which bugged me, however, was the shocking amount of spelling errors and typos in this book! I found this interrupted the flow and after a while became quite annoying. Perhaps Gazipura needs to find a more confident editor and proofreader!

Kindle Customer: The book is good, and I read it from cover to cover, but from time to time it just felt... I don't know - long?

Leo: I get the people who criticize this book for the plugs that Aziz makes to his conferences, group events, websites, and other books, luckily though, I wasn't disappointed enough to put the book down since this book contains so much good material I would recommend that the reader/listener, listen/read this book at least three times and that with each time she/he/they try to make a bigger effort to apply all the suggestions and techniques that Aziz recommends. As a person who reads countless books on self-help and similar topics I dislike coming across authors who've studied the subjects that they write about but don't really put the knowledge into practice. They just know about it. Although Aziz offers plenty of examples of his personal experiences, his plugs are a subtle/not so subtle clear example of what he is trying to convey here. Practice what you preach. So, just finish the book and apply the knowledge, you can thank Aziz later and maybe even capitulate to his plugs.

The Black Knight: This book was exactly what I needed. It feels like I have been under this dark cloud forever and now the cloud is slowly starting to dissipate and I'm starting to feel the warmth of the sun. It makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm one of the ones who was actually born with social anxiety, having been diagnosed with Aspergers, mood disorder, pervasive disorder, and chronic depression. All my life I have struggled with extreme shyness. It is so painful. But as I read through the book it gives me so many new ideas. And as someone who thinks a lot, I've thought this dilemma over and over and read about it, this book is so enlightening! Articles and things I've read in the past say, "don't focus on yourself so much, but focus on the other person," or "Just be positive." Others have made comments, "Just lighten up, you take everything too seriously," "Just toughen up," "Just this...Just that." The articles I read don't explain HOW, and these well-meaning people actually make you feel worse about yourself because they make it seem like "What's the big deal?" I, too, felt like other people are "normal" and I am somehow...

Arsalan: I recently upgraded from an android to an iPhone and boy am I glad I did or what. It allowed me to find Dr Aziz' podcast "shrink for the shy guy". I'm 32 years old and I've struggled with social anxiety all my life. So much so that I switched careers a few years ago to become a counsellor mainly to take care of this area of my life.
If there is something I regret, it's that I wish I had found Dr. Aziz' podcast, YouTube videos and most importantly his books earlier in my life. My anxiety was so bad that I probably would have thought twice before writing this review online. Not anymore.
The thing I like about the book is that he isn't making false tall claims just to sell his stuff like many other people. Tall claims may make the reader feel better only temporarily. He is honest when he talks about exposure and only the truth shall set you free.
This isn't snake oil. It really is the real deal. The only caveat is that you the reader has to take action, otherwise nothing will change and this book will help you do just that.
There are many areas in my life where I continue to struggle but I know that in this book and In Dr Aziz I have a great resource to...

Amazon Customer: This book is really helping me understand my issues and how best I can work through them, I haven't finished the book yet but I've already gained so much, What I have always liked about Dr Aziz is he explains concepts so clearly and in a very relatable way, when looking to take help and advice from others one thing that is very important to me, would be is this person talking from a place of personal experience and with Dr Aziz I can tell he has been through a very similar struggle to my own.
