The art is beautiful and I had fun with the bigger animals and plants. If you enjoy fine detail in watercolor and you have the skill to pull it off this will be super fun for you but I have a minor tremor in my hands and small details like the leaves were extremely hard for me. The paper its printed on does NOT like masking fluid as you can see in my image- I couldnt get much of it off without tearing up the page so I gave up. I think I'm going to switch to colored pencil for the rest of the pieces, as the paper and style seems better suited for that.
You can also see in the image that the pages are too big for my workspace and I had to cut them down but thats not an issue with the book itself.

Spedizione, e tempi di consegna ottimi come sempre.
Disegni molto belli.
Peccato. Lascio 3 stelle per le illustrazioni.

Considering that this book is supposed to be specifically for watercolor, I thought it would have a bit more robust watercolor paper. The paper is thicker, but the watercolor doesn't "behave" like I'm used to. It could be that this paper is more smooth (like hot press) than I normally use (I have only ever used cold pressed watercolor paper).
If you don't like hard edges, you really have to use a very small amount of water. I also tried to layer and found that once the paper has been compromised with too much water, it's basically a done deal. I have to say that there was minimal bleeding (as long as you are careful with how much water). It just takes a bit of time to get used to the paper. I basically decided to use the first page as my "tester"/ practice page to get used to using my different watercolor media. There is still a little bit of warping, but that doesn't really bother me.
So far I have tried:
Arteza Real Brush Markers - bled through and does not blend well - sinks into the paper right away so it's pretty hard to blend out with water or other markers. I think it bled through because I used too much water then kept messing with it. It...

First, I want to say I had zero prior watercolor experience aside from painting stick figures with crayola on copy paper. But I’m taking up learning more serious watercolor as a hobby.
I think I’ve had this book long enough to say it’s amazing! The photo is the first time I’ve ever put my watercolors to paper. Aside from watching youtube videos for a few weeks prior and watching a few of Kristy’s videos, I had no idea what I was doing and it turned out okay. Plus it was fun and stress-free!
This watercoloring book has been amazing for me just to play and learn. What happens if I puddle and then dab paint in the butterfly wings? What does that look like dry? What happens if I layer this color over that? While it’s wet? After it dries? Let’s try a light yellow wash in 3 shades in 3 different flowers, oops that one doesn’t even show when dried.
I’m doing another learning book right now as well and I’m finding this is a fun place to try out new techniques I’m learning. I’m painting one side and plan to go back in a year to paint the other matching picture just to see how far I’ve come. I really think experienced...

Philippa Dozin: Beautiful book to either paint or colour in. Pictures are greyscale and A4 format. Downside is that that each page is printed both sides but you get two of each picture, so if you have made mistakes on one you can turn page over and begin again. Paper quality is good. I used my Derwent Inktense pencils with lovely effect. You can also remove the pages to frame if you wish to. Author has included some good information at front of book - suggested materials, colour wheel and so forth. Definitely worth buying if you like watercolour or colouring with pencils.

What a gorgeous book. The book opens up (tri-fold) to a beautiful watercolor wheel (very helpful for beginners) along with a tutorial on the different types of how to watercolor i.e. Color washes glazing dry & wet bush techniques. Then there's a page that describes how to paint certain elements such as berries, botanicals leaves etc. its extremely detailed. By the way, all the elements she describes are what's actually on the images you'll be watercoloring.
Now for all the hoopla on the paper. As far as I'm concerned it's a 4++ paper I won't give it a five just yet. There was a tiny bit of of warping but it could be because I over saturated the paper with water. I'm a beginner so I'm not fully trained on the dos and donts.
The images are beautiful however I would have liked to have seen a little more white space. Not a lot otherwise people would probably complain there wasn't enough of the image, but maybe like 5% more white space.
Lastly, I used Prima Watercolors, Tombow markers, Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, Ranger Perfecr Pearls (wet) & Faber Castell Gelatos. They all worked amazingly well on the paper (used water to activate each of the...
