Lucy: My daughter love this book, very unusual way to learn but very interesting and informative. Love the books when they are fun to read and learn not like boring ordinary book. Really recommended for tinagers

Amazon Kunde: This product is likely of limited use to many, but I have a few brief comments.
First, I am not a science student, science teacher or scientist. I am someone interested in the nature of existence (from a particularly Buddhist perspective), and this book is one of the most fascinating little gems I have ever come across. Given that I am a literature teacher and my siblings are layout designers, that is not light praise.
It's a beautifully designed, humorous, and helpful guide to the elements that comprise our world. I look forward to sharing this copy with my daughter, as I first introduce this concept to her; since she loves both memory tricks and minimalist Japanese aesthetics, I'm certain it will be valued by her for years to come.
In addition, this supplier kindly and immediately sent a replacement copy when the first didn't quite make its way here.

Lori Overcash: Bunpei Yorifuji, best known for the ad series “Do It at Home” for the Tokyo metro line, is both an artist and an illustrator. In his graphic novel, Wonderful Life with the Elements: The Periodic Table Personified, Yorifuji both reimagines the periodic table while breathing it to life. Through clever use of icons, Yorifuji personifies the elements and aids the neophyte with an innovative tool to understand and examine the periodic table; while giving educators and instructors alike a new way of presenting the chemical elements to their students.
Each element is given various traits which represent its many properties and characteristics. Hairstyles represent the chemical property of an element, while body type serves to identify the state of matter: solid, liquid, or gas; atomic weight is represented by body weight, while age demonstrates the discovery year of the element. Special properties are demonstrated through clothing and backgrounds, with specific articles of clothing depicting the potential usage of the element. With this simple icon development, “The Super Periodic Table of the Elements” is born. Yorifuji’s clever, almost masterful, new design of the periodic...

AKEcosse: I love this book so much! Learning the elements can be really dry and rote, which means remembering long enough to be tested, then forgetting soon after -- however, in my opinion the interesting way that elements are described, presented & personified in this book could be what makes the information stick.
I've bought it for my daughter, who is in her first year of secondary school and really keen on science. I'm hoping that this will keep the science love going. It's highly entertaining & informative. Definitely suitable for young science fans -- perhaps old ones like myself too.

Max S.: I got introduced to this book by a friend who thought it was cute. So, since my dad's birthday was coming up and he is a chemist, I got it for him!
I was a little nervous it was too cute for him, but he loved it. He kept looking through it after we gave it to him.
From what I saw, each element has a different illustrated guy based on if it was a recently discovered element or a element discovered long ago. There is a key to all of this in the front. The Japanese of each element name is there also.
It is a great way to accidentally learn something new as you enjoy looking at the lovely illustrations.
The book is hard cover with a dust cover. It is not very big, maybe about 8 by 9 inches and about an inch thick. It says there is a poster inside.

Auxabois: I love this book so much. I bought it for a 7 year old for Christmas and she really loved it. I then went back and bought 3 more to give to other children I know (and one for myself). It is very informational and fun. I especially liked how they differentiated the elements, which really helps you recognize and remember their attributes (like how long they have been discovered, their weight, etc.)
One thing I would note is that some of the pictures have cartoon penises. You can see an example on the preview here on amazon - page 6. It isn't graphic in my opinion, and the mom of the child I bought it for didn't mind - but I thought I would note it in case that does bother anyone!

Chris Reich: This is a totally different presentation of the elements---the book is loaded with interesting details presented in a very unique fashion. I really like it as a coffee table book. I pick it up often and love flipping through.
A bit weird is that the elements are represented by a male figure---old, young, strong, etc. Which is interesting. This allows each page to convey a lot of information. But, sounding like an American prude, is it necessary to include genitalia? I'm sure this a cultural thing and it doesn't bother me but I would be uncomfortable sharing with a 10 year old kid. You know?

Peter Barker: This is an amusing and unusual way of presenting the Periodic Table of Elements. The elements appear in the form of cartoon characters but there is a lot of chemical information there although at times a bit cluttered.
It's rather like writing a dictionary in a form that is readable, interesting and informative.
I would recommend it to secondary schoolchildren as a fun book on chemistry.

rachel: This is a wonderful little book!
I have the hard copy version as well, and just adored it so much I bought the kindle version as well.
It is a new way of visualizing the periodic table, and may be much easier for visual learners, as well as learners who need context to link concepts and facts together.
If you are already familiar with the periodic table, this is just a beautiful rendition of facts you already know.
Wonderful illustrations!
The hard copy of the book comes with a wall poster.
