Moonbee: I bought a used copy of this book. It is in very good condition. The corners on the cover are a little worn but everything else is excellent! This was a great book to add to my mycology collection!

Mike & Cie:

Joseph Dezzani: I like the book and it feels sturdy, I’d feel comfortable taking it camping or foraging. However, when reading it with a light source above your head the pages can glare and make it difficult to read.

ZachZach: This book is written by Paul Stamets, a long standing staple in the Mycology (Study of mushrooms) community. This book provides a brief history of Psilocybin, safety nets for tripping, and identification knowledge out of every pore. This book teaches the 'Stametian' (Of Stamets) method of narrow down and properly identifying species. In the chapter "Major Psilocybin Genera" and onward have these identification pages (see figure 3) that are so dense with facts, and features as well as a nice picture. This book is a MUST HAVE for beginner mycologists, those that want to be able to tell these incredible fungi apart from their potentially lethal counterparts. I wish I had gotten the field guide version because I used this book in the field for the first couple weeks and it took some damage. If you do read this book, I GUARANTEE that you will be craving more knowledge after. Luckily, he also provides a bunch of sources, mycologists, and books that are certainly worth checking out. Happy Hunting!

MR S J BOYCE:
I saw Paul Stamets 'Fantastic Fungi' documentary on Netflix and was fascinated, so I bought this book to learn more about his work. If I'd done a bit more research I would have realised that this is essentially a book about identification... I guess there was a clue on the cover that says quite clearly 'An Identification Guide' (Hahaha)
It's not what I wanted, but I'll keep it because I think Stamets deserves the royalties and It's also got a very good 'Recommended Reading and Resources' guide at the back that contains a lot of things that I do want...

Sîr Alîce: This is really a beautiful, concienciously researched, and beautifully put together book. Sadly, a little too much, and too specific information for me, which I cannot readily put to use.. and the select areas of personal interest for me, combined with the physical weight and cost of the book, did not make the purchase worthwhile or ideal for me.
