The author has put together an exhaustive and well-documented analysis of the various methods of valuing stocks - the p/e, p/s, p/fcf multiples, EBIDTA, CAPE, discounted cash flow analyses and many others. As an investor, you're bombarded daily with these metrics - "ABC stock has a p/e of 90 and seems to be extended," "Now might be a bad time to buy stocks, since the CAPE ratio shows that equities are overvalued," and so forth. Calhoun tries to unpack each of these metrics and examine how effective they really are, based on historical data. He takes a scientific approach, not 'cheering' for any particular method, or trying to sell you on 'a technique that'll make you millions.' This kind of objectivity is just what an investor needs.
