Jill C: This book is both helpful and amusing. I actually would have liked more details into where the details in movies, books, and TV go wrong and get it right, but this is a really good resource to start with.

Bryan: I love this book. The author helps explain what we should believe about the FBI in the movies and books and what we should not. As someone who likes to know and learn, this is important to me. She uses stories from her podcast to help further explain things. It is easy to see how much she cares about the agency and its reputation.
On top of it being a great book, the author is simply a great person. I wrote her on a whim one night to discuss her book and podcast and she replied. She and I have had a couple conversations since then and she has been amazing each time. That means a lot. It shows that she didn’t write the book to become rich but to educate and inform. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Kiko: What FBI agents can and cannot do is very strict, and it was amusing to see how well-known movies, books and television have their FBI agents crossing all kinds of lines! The author rates these on a scale of keeping shoes tied (good job) to throwing the shoes at the TV or book (pretty bad). FBI agents are people who have passed rigorous standards to even be accepted, so they tend to be the cream of the crop. But they are people. They have family and friends. It was nice to hear how proud FBI agents are of their organization and how loyalty to that institution and pride in their jobs keeps them working at tasks that can be dangerous as well as tedious for not great pay. Thank you, agents.

Laurie Anderson: I learned more about the FBI from this book than from my husband during his 28 year FBI career. This book is a must read for anyone interested in learning about the FBI or becoming an agent. It is filled with interesting facts and incorporates anecdotes from the writer's popular podcast. I really liked that the writer talked about how movies and television inaccurately portrays the work of the FBI, giving specific examples in every chapter. There is not a question about the FBI the book did not answer. I really enjoyed reading it, and have recommended it to several of my friends who are avid readers.

K. Parks: Like everyone else, my perceptions of the FBI come from movies and TV. This well written book not only outlines the different ways that the public is being somewhat misinformed by media (granted often in the pursuit of a good story, so let's give them some leeway), but helps us to see how the department truly operates.
Clearly broken out by 'myth' in an easy to understand way. I also like how she references different podcast episodes she has done on the various myths so you can hear directly from any agents interview.
Most interesting and informative! Highly recommend!

A L Strickland: FBI Myths and Misconceptions is a fantastic resource for writers, producers well really everyone who enjoys watching and reading about the FBI! As a member of the reader/launch team, I was lucky enough to enjoy the preview of this book. The reviews of TV shows, movies were spot on and my review for this book is that both shoes remained on and tied tightly.
