Gresh: THIS IS ONCE AGAIN A TYPICAL GRAHAM HANCOCK BOOK - IT IS WELL-WRITTEN AND BASED LARGELY ON GRAHAMS' PERSONAL DEEP RESEARCH ON THE SITES DESCRIBED.
A QUALITY READ EXPLAINING OUR PAST FROM THE PERIOD OF MANS' PRE-HISTORY IN THE AMERICAs.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!

Country guy: Graham is a true gift to humanity. His research and insights and opinions shock so-called "modern" anthropologists and others because they are so dug in to being right with untouchable egos. But evidence is evidence. Learn about the tremendous effect on humanity from the Younger Dryas ice age.
For a real treat watch Graham and his brilliant friend Randal Carlson on their appearances on Joe Rogan's youtube shows...mind blowing.

aggiereader: First, I want to say that I absolutely believe the premise of this book: there is a forgotten ancient civilization that taught all the other civilizations we know of such as mayas, incas, egyptians, etc.
This was a belief that awakened when I wondered how come there are pyramids in all cultures? How did they all come up with the same shape if they didn’t know each other?
So I was already biased to like the content of the book. I enjoyed reading it but it was hard to stay engaged. Mr Hancock is brave to ask the hard questions and for making the reader question their indoctrination, but he is not capable of keeping the reader engaged. I compare it to a movie, there are some dull moments and some that you can’t miss.
Moreover the passive aggressive tone he uses to refer to the archeologists that ridicule him gets distracting.
Overall I don’t regret reading this book and I would recommend it to people, but I certainly don’t think I will read anything else by him.

Cinglais: I can highly recommend this latest book from Graham Hancock. A worthy addition to the other major works in the ‘series’, it presents much new material and updates important evidential research.
The main, and hugely important, aspect of the series of books commencing with ‘Fingerprints’ is the way they draw together cutting edge research, and dust off half-forgotten anomalies across a multitude of disciplines, and present it for the educated layman, and perhaps some more open-minded academics too, in an intriguing and very readable way. Hancock need not be fearful of losing a comfortable academic sinecure, research grants and the possibility being quietly replaced by someone a little more ‘sound’…
The books often read like a classic “who-dunnit” and this one is no exception. In the absence of a ‘United Nations’ of academia to openly and fearlessly correlate and cross fertilise areas of research, these books tie together outstanding, provocative and insightful studies of what and why things might appear as they, often ideas which are casualties of hierarchical academic conservatism, yes there is a degree of speculation, but it is, in my own opinion,...

S. Wall: This is a very thorough volume, but not one that I enjoyed as much as his previous books. It goes into too much unnecessary detail in many areas and reads more like a scientific paper at times. It's not a problem as such and I'm sure many will see the immense detail as a good thing, but personally I found myself skim-reading large chunks of this book, even areas in which I am quite well versed. I studied genetics at university but I still found the huge volume of detail as pertains to the genetic history of the Americas to be too in-depth. There is also a lot of time spent repeating verbatim the communications of various political allies and foes of the various sciences and this became tedious after a while - we get the point! But overall you have to congratulate the author for going into so much depth and that's not even taking into account the vast notes at the back of the book. It's better to have the choice of what to read and what not to.
Sadly there is some vulgar language, unnecessary in the written word, when the author speaks narratively of tragic personal events surrounding his investigations. From previous books and blogs, it is clear that the author has...
