Pansy Petal: I do enjoy a gripping story that holds my attention and stimulates my imagination. This series of stories fulfills those things. I am glad I came to this series late. All the books are out so I don't have to wait for the next one. Although the mystery of the day is solved, there is more going on. Way to hook readers. On to the next story.

Brittany: ** spoiler alert ** The second installment to Cassie Quinn series delivered on several fronts with a two-part contained murder/mystery, a deep exploration of a reestablishing a sibling relationship, and laying enough breadcrumbs to set anticipation for the next novel at an all time high. The writing continues to be witty and lyrical and truly opens up these characters to make them feel like close friends you want to keep spending time with and creates such complex villains that poetic justice is the only right solution.

The murder at the heart of this book opens up years old issues within the Savannah PD, especially involving David and how his career took shape. Whisper of Bones centers the emotional journey Cassie must go through as she reconnects with Laura and confronts some old deeply buried secrets of her own. The story does an excellent job of drawing the parallels between Cassie’s personal mystery surrounding the disappearance of her childhood friend and breaking down the barriers with her sister to finally embrace the feeling of offloading the burden of her abilities.
