I've read, trawled or skimmed through most of DCI Harry Grimm books, and can't say I'll be looking forward to reading the next one. The storyline in this book is not only unlikely, it's improbable.
He crashes into a meeting with superior office to fight his corner, and she was not even aware of the number of bombs blasts and dead bodies over the last two days!
Harry Grimm seems to be this super hero, ultra something or other, but not attaching in any way. There's not enough to grip onto; his new girlfriend just appeared out of the blue, no idea what she look like, just a lot of stuff like this.
The are threads of the story coming and going in all directions, some quite repetitious passages and I fear, lots of cutesy stuff coming in with the new baby.
Then there are the dogs, all of them permanently on their backs waiting for belly rubs or on someone's lap or bed - as we're repeatedly told in each and every book.
Sorry, I'm not inspired to read further books from this writer.

The characters are rich and so likeable and the stories are gripping; I can’t put them down. I Google every place that is mentioned in these books to get a visual and now I want to visit this beautiful country to walk where the Wensleydale gang have walked.
P.S. I’ve eaten Wensleydale cheese for years with my cake, learned it from an English man twenty plus years ago. Yum is all I can say. Hard to find in northern British Columbia though.
