halfstep: I’m happy I kept reading. At the first hundred or so pages, I thought it really wasn’t my kind of story.
I enjoyed it immensely, and I’m glad I continued reading. I think it was a great read, and I couldn’t see where it was going. Totally surprised by the ending. That’s what I consider a great read.

Frances Clark: A good mystery, a stressful love story, takes some time to get invested in this read but once you do, you can’t stop.

Michelle West: This is the first book I’ve ever read by this author and am being honest when I say I loved it! The storyline is heart wrenching and powerful. What I enjoyed most was the POV of the FMC. I love how she created the psychological profile and the anticipation of her putting it all together. The twists in this book made me unable to put the book down!

Hariharan: Psychoanalysis is a dense and difficult subject to understand. But when you try demystifying it and weave an intriguing plot around the whole thing, the result is an intensely engaging and absorbing narrative. One of his best books.

J'Lynne Jordan: I really loved the pace of the story--it was the driving force that took my enjoyment from "this is pretty good" to "wow, how haven't I heard of this author before?"
I was very wary about the multiple point of views but they didn't detract from the flow of information being told. I think the author gave you just enough to get a feel of what the case involved and how many pieces were moving at a time.
My one gripe is that we spend a lot of time in people's heads without any real actions being taken. A lot of ruminating over the same facts and scenes as the main character tried to piece together the information they had. It got boring after a while, and I started to skim lines to get to either new information or actual dialogue.
I'm also not a fan of characters voluntarily putting themselves in situations where there's a conflict of interest that could distract them from the goal-- there are more important aspects of your life to worry about. I did not care at all about the romantic storyline in this one when I'm more focused on someone's dead child.
But, this was still a great time, and I will see what else the author has in the future.

Cliente de Kindle: Characters are briefly built, if any, and the multiple POV ,with and without omniscient narrator, makes it blurry and immediately grows suspicion about the main characters.

Mareike S: Another great plot twist... If you know Torre's books you have probably been waiting for it. The great thing is if you still did not see this one coming!

Jill Speckhals: Lots of twists and turns in this one. I thought I knew what happened but lo and behold I was wrong. Hard to put down. Lucky I’d just had surgery and reading is about the only thing I can do.
