Sarah A. Didrikson: I learned a great day about Jesus's disciples that I did not know. This book gives you a lot of information about each disciple you may not have gleaned from reading the Bible. I recommend this book.

Joan: John MacArthur has written two books one on the women of the Bible and this on the disciples of Christ, I can’t recommend them enough. Although I have heard the stories, read the Bible’s text I have learned things or reheard stories that have made me rethink what I have already learned or heard. The holidays are coming this book is a nice gift as is the book on the women of the Bible. This book is excellent and I would recommend it::::::::

Annie: At Sunday School, our leader for the day asked if anyone wanted to read his book, “Twelve Ordinary Men” and I took him up on it. He was very surprised when I showed back a week later having devoured the book. I was very impressed with MacArthur’s writing that made it so easy to read the book. I never felt I did not have enough information or knowledge to understand (not because of me as I am ever learning) because MacArthur presented any background you would need and what I most loved is that this was not set up like a book study where Bible verses are listed and much of your time is looking them up. He presented the Bible verses and passages themselves and included the Bible verse numbers if you would want to look into them farther. Not to say that I wasn’t inspired to look up particular verses or the history now and then, not because I had to but was motivated to learn more.
So, after I read my friend’s book, I just had to get my own so I can reread it and to pass it on to others. Also, I feel having read the book, I better understand the times of the apostles better, and during church, when the pastor talks of James, Andrew, Phillip, etc., I know more of the rest...

Amazon Customer: Pastor John MacArthur has given an objective, fact-based description of the apostles. I can only be grateful that the Lord shows kindness to ordinary people (like me). While there are weaknesses that I identify with, there is, at the same time, so much to learn from them. Their lives are moving in many instances... I pray that the Lord may mould me after His will, and give me the love, faith, devotion and strength that these ordinary men displayed.

LEONARD SHUREY: John MacArthur is one of the finest modern day Bible teachers and pastor of Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, California for over fifty years. His biography by Iain H Murray is fascinating. "Twelve Ordinary Men" is a must for all Christian households. That such men could have accomplished so much under the Lord's provision and tutelage is as much of a miracle as the feeding of the thousands etc. John MacArthur's book (he is a prolific author) opens the readers eyes to much important and fascinating information. The existence of so many fine modern day Bible teachers is testament to the continuance of miracles.

Bud Mills: John MacArthur has done it again with information about the Apostles with historical information not in the Bible but documented long ago. Like what about Andrew, where did he go, what happened to him? And the others too. Great information about the 12 Apostles.
My only reason 4Stars on the review is 5Stars for MacArthur and 1Star for the vendor because the book I received was USED and NOT new as advertised. Edges of the pages were yellowed and upper right corners had been folded down every 3 or 5 pages thru the whole book for book markers from somebody reading it & returned it. NOT good for the dishonest vendor that sold it!
