Joel B.: Absolutely useless, great idea but couldn’t scrape the cheese of my bell end if I gave it the chance, waste of time, effort and money. Wouldn’t even use it to stir my tea

Smith FarmsSmith Farms: Technically, it does debur , but I'm talking slight deburring, like if you hack saw cut a piece of 1/2 inch emt, after about 45 seconds to a min it will eventually rub the burs off, it does not cut in any shape, form or fashion. It is quicker to use the old electricians method with channel lock pliers to remove burs, plier jaws for external, handles for internal deburring. There must be a quality control issue to have 50% positive reviews and 18% negative(or the positive reviews are fake)...you might notice there are no pictures of anything positive. This is where I'm calling BS on the stock ad pics, especially the piece of square stock, there is simply no way possible for the tool I received to cut that much metal....or any metal. The pic I uploaded is a piece of 3/8 mild steel. I tried running my drill slow for almost a solid minute and that is the results, no cutting whatsoever, just rubbing. After deciding it was a piece of junk I got out a box of brass and bronse bushings, found one long enough and small enough to test with, again no cutting, just rubbing. I should have trusted my gut and not disregarded the 18% 1 star ratings, instead I took comments from the positive...

Michael L.: First things first. The reason for many poor reviews is because people are not using this tool properly. You must NOT use this in an impact driver: the speed of an impact driver is much too high and you will burn the cutting edges of the tool. Instead, chuck this in a drill/driver and set the tool on low gear (used for driving screws, not for drilling).
I needed to cut/deburr some 1/2" Grade 5 threaded rod for a commercial construction project. (Grade 5 is a significantly harder alloy steel than the low-carbon steel all-thread that you would typically find in a hardware store). I had my doubts that this tool would be effective at deburring. So I was pleasantly surprised that the tool worked well, cutting a nice clean bevel on the cut ends. I deburred about 30 cuts. But at the end, it was having a very tough time cutting. That's because the steel used for this tool is simply not hard enough and tough enough to last, even when used at low speed as I did for all my cuts. Looking inside the cone, I can clearly see where the tool is worn down. If this tool had been made of HSS (high-speed steel), then it would probably last for hundreds of cuts when used at low speed.

Richard: read other reviews after ordering this and let me be your guide. this chamfering tool works absolutely perfect the low cost is just a bonus. i work as a Journeyman machine repairman and I don't have time for tools that don't do the job they were intended for. as soon as i brought it to work and opened the package i chucked it up in my 1/2" aircat pneumatic drill, the low rpm and shear torque of a drill like this separates the men from the boys. first task was trying it out on the intended material a piece of 1/2" threaded rod worked flawlessly, in fact it worked so good i grabbed a 5/16-18 black oxide socket head bolt that is rated at 20% greater than grade 8. the tool chamfered the end of that bolt with very little effort. The machinist in me would like to express to those with little to no experience. Just like a counterset the chamfer tool needs to be ran at low RPM for best results these tools are HSS not carbide. 60-250 RPM is absolutely ideal for chamfering and countersinking in metals and extremely hard materials. good luck and if you have had bad luck with this please try again with lower RPM's

RustyJD: Works simply amazing, you don't even need a drill to use this. I think this tool would have had better reviews if it had come with instruction. I watched a video how to use this by another manufacturer so I already knew. You have to use this tool slowly. This will not do it's thing fast. Like don't push the button all the way down on setting 1. You can use this in a screw driver that accepts the driver bits. A cordless screw driver will run this. Go very slow and it works great. I plan on buying more because most likely it will be removed from stores because people that don't know how to use it are giving it bad ratings. I tested 18 bolts of varying sizes and hardness and it works great on all them. Keep in mind also that you don't have to shave a lot off the bolt, just enough to take the burrs off.

James: The item itself seems to be of acceptable quality, but it is not sharp enough out of the box for woodworking operations. It's hardened steel (or seems to be, as a file largely skated on it), so I spent some time with a diamond paddle to put a decent edge.
