Art WatsonArt Watson: I take my lunch to work most days and I REALLY got tired of breaking and melting cheap plastic flatware. As a hobbyist I occasionally shop for cool camping/outdoor gear and was very familiar with Toaks and titanium cookware in general. I know I didn't "need" this, I simply wanted this for my lunch pale. I actually love this set more than I thought I would. But I have a couple of observations. First I found it a little tricky getting the flatware on and off the quite small carabiner. Secondly, I found that once you have separated everything into their 4 pieces, it is very easy to misplace the carabiner. This is not a significant problem on my messy desk but out in the woods...Dizasta! Lastly, while separating the flatware from the carabiner, I sprung the carabiner (broke it). Having used this set maybe 5 times, that's not a good sign. I was able to push the metal tab (spring) back in place and "fix it" but I advise caution. Finally, my suggestion if using this set in the field would be to tie or clip the 'biner to your pack and remove the utensils from the fixed 'biner. Alternatively (I like this idea less) you could leave it clipped and dangling from one of utensils. Taking it off...

Crptoboy: They’re good. Solid. Not solid enough to scoop ice cream but about as solid as most spoons. Fork and knife are good. Light weight. Polished where it needs to be. It’s polished titanium where it goes into the mouth. Not stainless steel. All titanium construction

T. D. Milne: This TOAKS Titanium Cutlery set is very light and extremely tough in comparison to my normal, every day silverware cutlery. I am very satisfied with my purchase. The knife, fork and spoon (all of which are equivalent in size to my every day utensil's) arrived together in a small box, within the Amazon.com shipping box. They arrived within a short time of my placing my order. All three pieces are connected at the top with a miniature hiking clip. Simply remove them from the hiking clip and use as normal and then attach them back to the clip so they're stored together for safe-keeping. Be cognizant that they can leave marks on porcelain. I no longer personally use them with my every day china for this very reason after finding out the hard way. I have not been the least bit disappointed.

Melen's Dad: I purchased some TOAKS brand Titanium Cutlery sets and some TO-GO-WARE Bamboo Cutlery sets on Amazon. Each has some interesting advantages, but as I think you will see, the Bamboo spoon is nearly worthless and the Bamboo knife is an oddity that it hard to describe. The Toaks Titanium stuff is very traditional in form, well balanced in your hand, very functional, expensive, strong/stiff and yet amazingly lightweight and beautifully finished.
Its about $18 per set for the 3 pieces. Not cheap. It weighs 1.7 ounces for the 3 piece set + the mini caribiner. There is NO case with this set and the mini-caribiner is almost too small to use. If you have fat fingers just throw the mini-caribiner away. If you have agile fingers then you can use it, for something???
As light as this set is, it feels good in the hand, the utinsels are roughly the same size and shape as the stuff in your kitchen drawer, and its strong. Titanium is stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, doesn't rust. Pretty much the perfect material for the ultra-light hiker (other than the high cost). Close examination of the Toaks Titanium cutlery shows that this is a high quality set that a craftsman would...

Terry: Goodbye plastic. I bring these everywhere with me and turn down plastic utensils. Much nicer to eat with than plastic and easy to clean. I attach them to my belt loop or stick them in a bag if I have one.
