AK: Sometimes jams or marmalades can be too runny, but the consistency of this jam is good. It is not too stiff nor too runny. I enjoy the flavor of black current. However, this gets a 4 out of 5 for flavor as the flavor is slightly weaker and not as full-bodied as I would have liked. Maybe a bit more tartness might have helped rather than too much sweetness.
But overall I have enjoyed this jam and will purchase again. I think their marmalade will be good a well as other famous British brands are too runny.

Amazon Customer: For some reason we just can't get blackcurrant jam anywhere in the South. Even local branches of chain stores that claim to have it really don't (begins with W and ends with art, you know who you are). This little jar of joy arrived on my lawn spouting metaphorical gossamer angel wings of deliciousness. It's been so long. Welcome home. Nom.

stampy: I don't see why a person has to pay so much for preserves with simple ingredients which are then imported from England. But that's the hfcs world we live in. I bought this for my wife for a treat but now I force her to eat Smucker's Naturals which are less than half the price and abt 75% as good (they don't have black currant though). There are other American preserves, made by specialty companies, which are just as good or better but cost as much...for sugar, fruit, pectin, maybe citric acid and a glass jar. And a label.

1: I like thick quince preserves but kept trying diff [flavorless/dry] membrillo's because jams were so pricey. I looked up recipes and found: membrillo is made with pulp AFTER jam is made!!!! No wonder they never matched up! Got special 6/24$ deal and these were wonderful. Arrived quickly/safely too! These are on the sweet side but nicely firm, almost all fruit & so much flavor!!!!
I wish this was easier to find locally- but thanks Tiptree.

raj-seattle: When I was a boy back in Indiana, we had gooseberry bushes along the street kind of like a hedge row. They were the best gooseberries. I would eat them by the double handful right off the bushes. Red and sweet when ripe and SOUR when not ripe. Thorns, thorns, and more thorns but worth the pain every time. Mom would make gooseberry pies, jams, and we would feast on them over the holidays.
This product reminds of those times back in the 50s when the taste we pure and simply nature at its best. I highly recommend it to anyone else out there yearning for a taste of the past.

T Underwood: Quince Jelly or conserve are not so common these days, so I was pleased to find it available online.
This one by "Tiptree" is excellent. Good flavour, not excessively sweet, and perfect consistency.
Great if you like quince, or simply want to experience the flavour, of a slightly old-fashioned fruit conserve.
