S. B. Kelly: I've been using these Timex watches with a Velcro strap for years and recently needed a new one. It's very comfortable to wear. I had to get the instructions from Timex's website and feel that it wouldn't kill them to include them on paper in the box. Even with the on-screen instructions, it took me a while to set it up.

Titus73: My Timex [ Expedition Sports ] timepiece is a true enduring watch that ( don't require cleaning ) of any way! This watch brand has done so well for me; I've gotten my [ 7th watch ]!

KMAN: I'm impressed how long Timex has kept this design. I have been using these watches for so many years it's hard to count. It must be 20 years plus. In this day and age, it's impossible to find something that is kept original. Timex Rocks, the expedition has everything in one glance. Day, Date, Time and the Timer as well as the stopwatch that I use to cook with nearly every day. Keep it up Timex this is the only watch I will ever use.
I certainly didn't think I would be able to get another one because I've had this last one for so long.

ShamazonShamazon: The watch itself is great. It has a comfortable strap. Accessing functions is fairly easy. Great illumination and I really like that it has a vibrating alarm. I do short dives in the ocean (not that deep as it's freediving) and it holds up well. The only complaint is the compass is lightly affixed to the strap and easily pops off. Mine came off when rinsing the salt water off it after the second use. But I've been using it for a while now and no other issues. Recommend investing in something more rugged if you're planning on extrenuous activities. Definitely wouldn't trust it as your sole compass (it's more like a kids toy compass).
As for sizing, I'm a petite woman with slim wrists. The men's 40mm fits comfortably and doesn't look like I'm wearing a dinner plate on my wrist.

Agent Shrader: .....this watch offers all you could possible ever need on a daily basis:
- ultra clear, crisp display with absolute nothing but the time/day/date
- 100 h stopwatch
- 24 h countdown timer
- 3 alarms
- 2nd timezone (free to set)
The watch is neither comical large nor ridiculous small, in fact it's a perfect size for an EDC watch. Although it is not very thick, it offers a good protection for the acrylic crystal with the bezel's rim that stands about 1.3mm above.
The alarm(s) are very loud, the display is uncluttered, high contrast and very legible, the Indiglo backlight is awesome (the best in the entire watch industry), the timer can be set by 1 second increments up to 24h and the strap wears okay (not too great, but I changed the strap anyway). The battery is a 90mah CR2016 which should last quite a few years. Overall it is probably nearly impossible to beat that watch, it is not for pretenders but for people with common sense, looking for a quality product. Highly recommended !

Herkamer: I ordered the expedition Timex watch because I have had one for fifteen years and even replaced the battery once. The old one still works but I have worn it all over the world and the front is scratched. I ordered the new expedition and I tested the back light immediately and found that it did not work and that was an important feature to me. I returned the watch and received a new one about 2 days later. I wasn’t expecting it so soon and was about to leave town for a couple days so I left instructions to put the package in the garage so the porch pirates didn’t take it and alert potential thieves that I wasn’t home. Unfortunately I received an email from Amazon telling me the item was delivered with a picture of it next to my front door right out in the open. Doesn’t anyone read the delivery instructions? I had to leave early to come home and get the package off my door step. Anyway the new watch does seem to work.

J. Penrose: After buying a very disappointing Casio el cheapo, first bad one I've ever had but it was royally bad, tended to reset itself if you placed it face down on the counter for example.... I ended up with this watch as a replacement. Wish I had seen this one first.
The face is large and friendly. The display is both high contrast and suitably large print. I am getting older and it's nice not to have to squint. Even the secondary data like day and month are larger than many digital watches' main display yet the overall size is not humunguous. I like a large watch as I have large wrists and hands and this does not overwhelm. It's a bit thick and a little plasticky but it's not a Cartier or even a Seiko and I didn't buy it for elegance.
The backlighting takes a bit of getting used to as it shows the dial in reverse, like a photo negative for those of you who actually remember photo negatives. :) But a couple of days on and I'm fine with it, The normal watch face is of such a contrast that I only need to use the backlight in real darkness and once you get used to the different look, it's not a problem to read at all.
It's alleged to be waterproof to 100 meters but you...
