Many people are complaining that they are hard to remove, but they unclip relatively easily the same way you would unclip your shoes, by rotating your heel, or in this case the back of the clip, outwards. I also appreciate that these are bigger than other available adapters and have a few plastic pegs for better grip.

John: I bought this when I was starting to get into road cycling, but not that confident yet on using it on the road. At first I was just practicing in my indoor trainer with a clipless pedal, but when I do decide to go out and wasn't confident enough to ride without falling or crashing, I pop this bad boys on. They are easy to put in, but kinda hard to take out. The easiest way to take it out is to put an Allen key wrench that will fit through a hole on the side and pop it as if you are unclipping when riding. Build quality was good, and it did really helped me out a lot

EDIT: (3-19-20) The company reached out to me and offered to send me a replacement because they felt confident it would work with my pedals. I got the item maybe 3-4 business days after I gave them my address. The pedals were very easy to install this time around however uninstalling them was a huge pain. I don't have the force to take them off by hand. They recommend using a tool which they don't provide. Luckily I had a small spare hex wrench laying around and that did the trick. Still a cool idea for people who do city or stop and go cycling and don't want to clip and unclip constantly but also do more gran fondo rides were clipless pedals and their efficiency make more sense. The platform has a diamond like pattern on it that does have a good amount of traction however the SPD-SL pedal is pretty small to begin with so this simply doesn't compare to the width of traditional platform pedal however is more stable than it you tried riding on SPD-SL pedals with regular shoes.
All in all I probably should have just gotten dual platform SPD pedals since I do 60% city and 40% gran fondo riding.
This is a great concept to be able to convert your...

These work just fine. There are other much more expensive options out there but sometimes simpler is better. These are the right price and do what they are supposed to. It takes some grip and force to get them off but it's not bad. I have never felt like my foot was going to slide off or that they were unsafe. They fit my Ultegra PD-R8000 Pedals no problem.
Good purchase.

Mike B: I have the SHIMANO PD-R540 SPD-SL pedals. These didn't fit initially. I had my friend show me i just had to pull part of the pedal back so it could slide down. Also you can loosen your pedals more so its easier to pull the piece. Either way, I bought these as a risk because it seemed 50/50 that they would fit. Very happy that they fit. Work great, It's nice to ride my road bike without clips when I'm commuting back from work. I do love clips though! I like to use them on the way to the park for laps, and the way back - not commuting.
