J. C.: 6 year old was completely absorbed when I read it to her. She then read it on her own (which was a bit surprising because there's a decent amount of text) and it really helped her to learn to read!
The story is very well told and the graphic novel is very well done!

Alex Davis: It was different from the two movies I’ve seen about this but different can be good and this was very good.

Hazel Dahl Behrens: Creating a graphic novel with Dahl’s quirky characters and fresh dialogue is a genius move. I loved the story and read the novel on my device in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. A picture really is worth a thousand words.

SaraSara: The media could not be loaded.  It's a great graphic novel book that even my special needs child with the third / fourth grade reading comprehension is enjoying great details great picture work and it's not that scary

Kristin: I love RD...so this was a fun read. It’s definitely not as good as the original, BUT my son and I flew through it and thought it was decent. Reading is reading, and I was happy it kept my son engaged.

peter krug: If there's anyone who's completely unfamiliar with the story (even though it has now gotten two film adaptions) here's the basic plot: a young boy (whose name we never learn, although in the first film he was called Luke) is recently orphaned after his parents suffer a tragic, untimely death and he is sent to live with his grandma. His granny tells him that witches are real, and, unlike in fairy tales and movies like "Wizard Of Oz", they do NOT wear black cloaks and hats or ride of flying broomsticks, but look like perfectly ordinary women. And this makes them all the more dangerous, because they HATE children and their goal in life is to exterminate as many kids as possible. The grandma also gives the boy some tips on how to spot a witch, for example witches always wear gloves to hide their clawed hands. Then one day they take a trip to a hotel. While there the boy sneaks off to play with his pet mice in an empty meeting room. While hiding behind a curtain the room suddenly fills with a large group of women who claim to be holding a meeting to help prevent cruelty to children. While in his hiding place the boy makes a horrifying discovery: the women are actually witches! And not...

chiqitabanana: My son absolutely loved this book! I was so excited to read it to him because I was such a fan of Roald Dahl when I was a kid and wanted him to experience his great books as well. He begged me to read more pages every day and even when it wasn't story time. Then we watched the movie together. Fantastic re-do of the original even if it is missing a few things and some things had been changed

J_SizzleJ_Sizzle: Beautifully presented hardback with great interior artwork. I’m a comic fan and loved the movie as a kid, I saw this come up in the comic book Previews and couldn’t wait to buy. My kids have my same enthusiasm for comics as well as all things spooky. Completely captivated my 5 year old daughter who couldn’t wait to read more as soon as she got home from school! We read together in a few days and my 4 year old son wants to start from the beginning now. It’s not too text heavy and requires one to really feel into the story with the images working well as a read aloud with some fun voices and expressions. The panels seamlessly flow and capture the story progression effortlessly. I know I’m a reluctant reader and I’m sure the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree but this helped me work to build my daughters vocabulary with a few big words whilst enjoying wonderful illustrations and a great edge of your seat story. Maybe not suitable for all little ones but my genre is horror and whilst I think the old movie would be too scary, this was kid friendly enough for my little terrors! Now I need to find more graphic novels like this as this really helped me and my kids connect...

L. Collins: I saw the new trailer for the remake of "the Witches" and was immediately transported back to my childhood. It read it in elementary school and was so excited when the movie was made with Angelica Houston. I immediately looked for the book for my neice so she could experience the feeling and we could rewatch the original before the new one aired. She read this with excitement in 2 days, probably would have been a day if she had opened it earlier. Was a great adaptation of the traditional book and an easy enjoyable read. Would love if more books did this! We've already watched the original on Netflix, can't wait for the new one on Oct. 22!

Was delivered fast and in great condition.
