Kindle Customer: Great characters, a good story, with lots of fun and intrigue. I highly recommend this book. The Ravenel's is a great series.

Kindle Customer: I love Lisa Kleypas' romances but her historical facts and settings are even better. For that reason, Hello Stranger is my favorite in this series. Garrett and Ethan have superpowers but are based on real people. The chaos of London's metropolitan police, the discrimination of women in medicine, the bad behavior of the aristocracy all make for a fascinating story.
For strictly romance, I enjoyed Pandora's story, but the entire series is priceless.

Cynthia L. Bogner: An unconventional heroine is the heart of this book. But the hero is not too shabby either. He is so eloquent when conveying his feelings.
The romance is scorching, but it almost pales next to the nerve wracking subplot of terrorism and murder.
West Ravenel provides an abundance of comic relief. It was fun to spend some time with him again.

Roslyn: Another great story in the Ravenels series. Lisa Kleypas always writes a good story and this one did not disappoint.

Ms. Sj Phelps: 4.5 Stars - Spoilers!!!
All my 4 star reviews for LK are actually 4.5 and I hold out the 5 for the ones that are really special – otherwise how would I elevate them?
Another really good by LK, lots of positives to mentions and a few negatives but none that really took away the enjoyment of the story.
Positives
Garret’s character is great! I’ve liked her all through the series but I was worried that I when we got to her book she would be prim and reserved, maybe unfeminine and unwilling to yield to Ethan. I was expecting the storyline to be that she would resist her attraction to him and giving up her independence and Ethan would have to spend the whole book convincing her to marry him. But thankfully LK didn’t go down that route. She was feminine but badass at the same time. It’s really hard to take a feminist character and soften them without losing their character so I appreciated this. Some other reviewers have disagreed and said she became to simmering but I think a woman can be a feminist and still be feminine.
I liked Ethan too – I have been spoiled in the series by Rhys – none of the other heroes are quite swoon worthy for me...

Carol Cork: This is the fourth book in Lisa Kleypas’ The Ravenels series and highly anticipated by many readers, including myself. I admit to being intrigued by the unlikely pairing of the level-headed Doctor Garrett Gibson and the mysterious government agent Ethan Ransom.
Ms Kleypas has created some of the most memorable heroes ever and Ethan certainly deserves to join that illustrious group. He is everything I look for in a hero – strong, flawed, passionate, smart, intriguing, honourable, loyal, tender and prone to saying the most heart-melting words. I love how, from the first moment he set eyes on Garrett two years earlier, he was totally bewitched by her…
She was sunlight and steel, spun into a substance he’d never encountered before. The mere thought of her left him like a stray coal on the hearth.
and is determined to protect her from harm during her weekly rounds to dangerous parts of London. Garrett is far from defenceless as she is taking fencing lessons, but I enjoyed seeing Ethan castigate the fencing master, Monsieur Baujart, for not instructing Garrett how to defend herself properly against the likes of himself.
“I suppose when she’s lying...

What’s it About? Garrett Gibson is used to the curiosity and disbelief surrounding her. As England’s only female physician she’s pretty much seen and heard it all and handles herself very much like her male counterparts. Except when it comes to Ethan Ransom who makes her feel out of sorts and very female. His loyalties are questionable, his skills as a detective legendary, but it’s the way he sees and treats Garrett that has her questioning everything she thought she knew about men. Ethan is attracted to Garrett in a way that goes further than the physical and the timing couldn’t be worse. He is about to undertake the most dangerous mission in his life and now Garrett is in the...

OLT: Well, darn. I think it's official. I'm divorcing Lisa Kleypas. She's almost batting 0 for me in her latest Ravenel series, none of which are better than 3-star books, IMO. Even this one, which I had high hopes for, turned out to be a dud, with its slight romance of two underdeveloped characters mixed with a whole lot of historical information dumping. The H/h relationship doesn't develop. It just is. They decide early on they want each other and mostly ineffectually fight the sexual attraction until they don't anymore and then have lots of tediously-detailed sexy scenes that I skimmed, because, really, who needs all that? I wanted to watch them fall into love, not into bed.
Let's discuss the info dumping. Kleypas took a hiatus from HRs a few years back before returning with this Ravenel series. It feels as if during this hiatus she was doing huge amounts of research into Victorian times so she could impress picky readers who don't like anachronistic HRs. Well, I don't like anachronistic wallpaper stories but I do like a good story. If I want information about self-defense methods and training, medicine and medical procedures in the 1800s, Victorian train service, various...

DD: Loved this book. Really strong and independent characters with an instant massive attraction. Exciting plot and lots of passion. You could feel the chemistry between the H&H. A couldn’t put it down book. Highly recommended.
