M. J. Johnson: I am always looking for new diabetic cookbooks (having been diagnosed fairly recently) and I had high hopes for this one, as "one-pot" meals fit my needs best. The recipes are OK, but not actually very exciting. And there's an entire section devoted to pressure cookers, which I don't own and am not going to buy. I am an American, so the Americanness of the measurements, etc. is not problematic for me, but I would have preferred recipes that relied less on canned ingredients and emphasized the value of fresh food items, possibly only listing the canned versions as alternates if fresh were not available. That said, I will be making the Creole Scrimp with Rice tonight for dinner.

LolajaneO: I bought this book for my sister who has recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. She did say that most of the recipes were very bland, and she didn't like them very much. My sister does not usually use a lot of spices in her cooking, and to hear her say this was a disappointment.

Linda Stalnaker:
I am not diabetic, but a friend, recently diagnosed as being prediabetic, asked me if I knew much about diabetes and I wasn't able to help him, but I am an able researcher. This One Pot Diabetic Cookbook has wonderful recipes and other info for the cook. I also found another book for beginners and a carb counter. My friend was so happy to receive these and he ha been using the books and carb counter.

Amazon Customer: Sadly, I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing as this book is in line with American eating/recipes so unfortunately unable to acquire or indeed know the recipes required for the standard cup of sauces that are required. Some good ideas but not for UK palate.
