Heather Black: As I understand, Charles Dickens most famous works originally came out as a serial. The next part of the story would be released in a newspaper. People we eager to get the next installment (I don’t know if they were whole chapters or not). That is how this story feels. One book doesn’t resolve anything. It is just another installment. It is fun to read it this way, but is also unsatisfying as there is not obvious direction. Ok, first book was set up Murderbot as the main character. Next to books are Murderbot going out on his own and finding himself. Fourth book is reuniting with ProvidenceAux. But if it continues like this, I cannot end for a very long time.

Thicc & Ired: The Murderbot is home and they’re out for revenge against those that want to hurt their humans. For an emotionless killing machine, Rin is very engaged with human suffering and naïveté. They have a hard time making eye contact, fitting in, being settled in crowds, and basically interacting with social norms. I think part of the reason this story is so entertaining is its relatability and that so many of us see parts of ourselves in Rin.
Very good and I highly recommend reading this.

Michael Delaney: Alright, so this series is really picking up some steam. Each book has gotten better and better, and Exit Strategy continues that trend with a more serious tone this time, the light hearted laughter is still there, but I’m digging that the seriousness was turned up a notch. Wells has done a tremendous job of making me crave more and more of Murderbot, to a point where I’m knocking two of these out in a single day because I want more.
“I was having an emotion, and I hate that. I’d rather have nice safe emotions about shows on the entertainment media; having them about things real-life humans said and did just led to stupid decisions”
I love Murderbot’s character development throughout this series, watching his growth has been fun, and seeing how it’s currently developing is very nice, and I look forward to continue to see his growth. The narration by Kevin Free continues to be an absolute delight, he really helps bring the story and the characters to life in such a fun and serious way. I’m not sure I could experience this any other way.

Cocked Cap: Shades of Ellison, Asimov, even de Camp. I would definitely recommend starting at the beginning. This would be harder to enjoy without the backstory. Still worth the money though.

ballettlover: One of the best in an excellent series. Corporate skulldogery at its worst and our hero overcoming several murderous attacks, while coming to terms with his emotions and people who appreciate him greatly. Murderbot is fab.

Michael Lynn McGuire: Book number four of a seven book series of science fiction novellas and books. I reread the well printed and well bound hardcover published by Tor in 2018 that I bought new from Amazon this year. The first novella in the series won the 2018 Hugo, Nebula, Alex, and Locus awards. The series won the 2021 Hugo for the best series also. I am rereading the next two books in the series and the seventh book in the series arrived today.
Murderbot is a SecUnit, similar to a T-800 Terminator with a cloned and severely modified human head. There is a human brain in there but it is controlled by the AIs embedded in its genderless torso. There are lungs, there is a blood mixture with a synthetic, there is human skin over the entire body, there is a face, there is hair on the head and eyebrows. Everything else is machine. Somehow, the blood is enriched with electricity as there is no stomach or intestines. But, there are arteries and veins to keep the skin and brain alive. All of the major arteries and veins have clamps to stop bleeding in case of damage. There is a MedSystem computer with an AI, a HubUnit computer with an AI, and a governor module that can force the SecUnit to follow...

gerkmeister grant: Extremely exciting read. I can barely put this series down. Totally identify with Murderbot. Writing this review makes me feel weird and now I will go stare at the wall.

---
Just to put things in perspective: book 1 bought April, 13; books 2 and 3 the next day; book 4 yesterday, finished today.
Main character cynical to the right level, other characters well developed, compelling story.
After reaching 1/3 of book 1 I was already a huge Murderbot fan.

Emm Campero: I live for Murderbot and his humor, his adventures, his hacking abilities.
He's great and the stories are short and fun.
I'm waiting for the full novel.
