F. Vygovskiy: Platitudes, banalities abound in this book and are its main "meat". Nothing of surprise or substance if you have experience working in the corporate world. The book's essence is that if you are brilliant, you can work at McKinsey, among the smartest people on the planet..and that the world around you consists of far less smart people, to put it very lightly (many direct and indirect references of superiority throughout the book). Stylistically, the book is outdated for the 21st century (as if Don Draper had written it), quite superficial in its analysis of how the Firm goes about solving client issues, and seems to be written more as a self-tap-on-the-back for the McKinsey crowd than to explain what they do during engagements--- 3-stars for the humor, else 2 stars of substance.

Amazon Customer: I liked the sequence, the content. I could grasp the essence of a week in the consultant’s life and also understand how I can frame a better way of working with teams and clients in other types of businesses.
I missed more details about the concepts past the McKinsey’s problem solving chapters, but I can understand it may be something more out of the scope of this book.

NASSER ALMANNA: I cannot tell how incredible this book is. It is in fact has helped me to understand the area of business consulting. I was struggling in my course until I got this book and read it. The only thing negative I noticed is that the author shows off a lot, otherwise, everything is amazing. One last thing I would like to share is that to attempt to abstract the book, and thus the information would stick in a one's mind.

Yitch: As an IBM consultant, it's nice to see what the competition has, even though it's a bit outdated.
In terms of the culture that is painted in the book, I would say the two firms are really worlds apart, both in good ways.
There is a lot of negative reviews about the book, however to me, it was enjoyable, taking in the lessons I can practice in my job and learning from history. I look forward to the other two books in the series.
To me this is definitely not as good as Liker's Toyota Way, however, they discuss totally different things. However in terms of describing company culture, Liker is really in depth, I guess kinda like Toyota while Rasiel just scratches the surface, kinda like Mckinsey ;) (JK)

Todd Hagopian: I have to say, that as a businessman, this book is incredible! I have reread it four times, and I live by what is inside. If you are thinking of going into consulting, this book is a must-have, but if you are a manager in any capacity you need to have this book in your collection. You can apply these principles to any business, and you should be. There is a reason these guys are the best in the business. Buy this book!
