Amazon Customer: Very thorough/detailed with lots of footnotes. Was recommended by another Christian who's always looking to do deep dives on the Bible. This definitely provides additional insight from a different perspective. Well written and easy to read... even if in reverse! Definitely recommend it.

James: The Israel Bible is exactly what it is supposed to be, a Hebrew Bible. There are no Christian scriptures. There's not supposed to be. There is no mention of Jesus. There's not supposed to be. It is a good translation based on the Masoretic text.
The only complaint is that the print is a kind of small for old eyes. The Hebrew and English are printed side by side in columns. I wonder if printing on opposing pages may have been a more effective use of space and allowed larger print. Either way, I recommend it.

David Rutledge: I heavy but attractive book. The English translation adapted from JPS Tanakh (1985). Book is really for those who want to see the Hebrew text along with the English translation. Nicely laid out. The Jewish Study Bible, 2nd edition (Berlin & Brettler) is the best choice for extensive study notes, same English translation, but no Hebrew text. However, buy this one too to support Israel in yet another way.
