Thordur Gudmundsson: There is a lot to talk about in a book about Gandhi and there is plenty here, but wasn't there more to say about this great man? I mean there are only 32 pages here! Anyway if you like history you have to read this book as Gandhi is one of the greatest persons of the 20th century.

Nrhk: A biography that is simple, without any hype and a lot of lessons to imbibe. An ordinary person and his life that defined a mass leader. He flourished as he grew on people he met. A different communication skill. None in his gained from his greatness, a negative to nepotism. Beautiful language. 👍

We need peacemakers in our days and Gandhi is an example.

Mark Laufenberg: This was a concise, but well written account of the life of Gandhi. I hadn't known too much about him other than that he was a key figure in India obtaining independence and promoted living by peaceful and nonviolent means.
It was interesting in that he gave no foreshadowing of being an influential leader throughout his childhood. He wasn't a particularly bright student at all and after studying law he started his own law practice which ended up as a failure. It was when he took a job in.South Africa and experienced racial injustice because of the color of his skin that he found his true calling.
Gandhi was a central figure in obtaining equal rights for Indians living in South Africa, but it took over 20 years of efforts and an 8 year campaign as the leader of an official organization. He endured beatings and narrowly escaped being killed in one incident. However, he always adamantly encouraged his followers to conduct protests and defiance of the law in a non-violent manner.
When he returned home to India after more than 20 years in South Africa, he was determined to gain independence for India from the rule of Great Britain. During World War I, many Indians...

JJares: This is a clear and concise explanation of Gandhi's life and purpose. It's great for someone who just wants the facts, without a lot of detail. I thought the info about Gandhi being shy was an interesting fact that wasn't mentioned in other sources. I also was surprised that he disowned one of his sons. The book makes a good point that Gandhi was a leader who inspired others, worldwide, to follow in his footsteps. I did have some questions after reading this, how did Gandhi support himself while crusading for a free India? What happened to his children? Otherwise, this is a great, quick read.

V. Rajasekaran: I don't find nether any words to express my opinion nor i am entitled to express about the great man and his policies to attain freedom. I feel Britishers in a vengeful means looted and sowed the seeds for partition and people of the then India fell for it. V.Rajasekaran
