Maria Simsky: Helpful. Most important tip is that baby needs to take as much of the breast in its mouth as possible, and message your breasts in between feeds to keep milk moving in the ducts (keep this in mind and save some money ;)

Aurora: This is an amazing book, I highly recommend for any pregnant or new mother who is planning to breastfeed her baby. I bought this as a gift for my sister-in-law who was pregnant with her first baby. I already had my own copy of this book and I found that it was extremely useful from pregnancy on through toddlerhood. The index in the back was extremely helpful in looking up particular categories whenever I had a question or concern. I love Dr. & Mrs. Sear's ideology and input on breastfeeding. You will love this book too! Because of this helpful & insightful book, I had the confidence to continue nursing my own babies until they were between 1.5 years old and 2 years old.

Written with a lot of love, keeping in mind every day struggles that nursing mums face and encouraging us to continue breastfeeding in all situations!

MommyPerez: I wish I had read this before my daughter was born, but it saved us in the end. I expected breastfeeding to come naturally to me, I mean really whats so hard, boob to mouth and away you go. Needless to say I was wrong and had overwhelming feelings of failure when we had difficulties This book helped with technique and emotional support. I would recommend to any new mom-to-be. I wish it had more about pumping and returning to work, but that's my only complaint.

Missy2007: I love love love this book!! As a first time mom I read this book from the beginning of my pregnancy. I was so determined to be successful in breastfeeding. I learned so much my mommy friends were coming to ME for breastfeeding advice BEFORE I had my baby!! And found the advice successful! My son was latched and nursing 2 hours after my c-section. Because of the advice in this book, I learned to latch him every hour, and I give this book the credit for my milk coming in 24 hours after my son's birth!! I handled my engorgement according to the book's instructions and my engorgement only lasted a couple days! My son is 8 weeks old and to this day has never had formula! I'm so grateful to the Sears family for publishing this book! I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to breastfeed or is currently breastfeeding.

powelb: I read this book when I was experiencing a few difficulties breastfeeding when my son was only seven weeks old. The advice was so sensible and sensitive. My baby is now six months old and I am planning to still be breastfeeding when he is one. I have found it an invaluable source of advice throughout the past months as it answers questions on positioning, diet, demand-feeding, allergies, winding etc. This is a "must-have" book for any new mother who is planning to breastfeed.

M. M. Enyart: I wish I had purchased this book before my child was born! I had read several books and articles on breastfeeding, attended classes, and talked with lactation consultants but this book provided the best advice. My child was delivered by cesarean section at 37 weeks and was not particularly interested in breastfeeding. My initial attempts were difficult but with the help of a friend I was able to breastfeed successfully. However, once I went back to work I began to have difficulty keeping my milk production up and this book provided some very good advice. I like the fact that they explain things fully and include experiences from their lives and others. Again, I wished I had read this book before my child was born because I think I would have had an easier time getting started. I recomend this book to any mother who is considering breastfeeding her child.

Julie: The first few weeks of breast feeding were the hardest of my life! I wanted to sleep! I wanted my nipples not to KILL! (I had a baby who sucked Hard from minutes after birth.) This book kept me going. The scientifically proven benefits run the gammut--no stinky poops, a 10 pts higher IQ, a baby less likely to have allergies, a baby less likely to be sick (baby gets mom's antibodies) and more. After about four wks, I was fine. My baby's 10 wks now and he's never had a bottle. I thought I'd never feed in public, and now I do it everyday. (It's amazing how all your preconceptions disappear!) Great tips on what to do about discomfort. My fav. was let nipples air dry and they harden. As soon as I got this book I read and read and read. Thank you William and Martha. I can't believe they have EIGHT kids.

Fiona Dean: I was gifted with the Attachment Parenting book of this series, the parents / health professionals who wrote these books have continued this style of parenting through this book, I felt this matched my outlook & personality regarding parenting style these books reassures & affirms my instincts as well as reminds how to simplify the needs, while also gaining knowledge and facts, I wish more Midwives & Health Vistors read these books it certainly could help them be less biased & encourage a different view to some areas where they discourage or frown upon due to statistics / numbers plus in my ongoing experience I found these books have been clearer & truer then when I have been advised in past. If you feel Attachment parenting fits your personality and lifestyle then the books by this couple are perfect.
