A.B.: I just reviewed another product for the same dog, but I have an approximately 90lb Golden Retriever puppy who pulls when on the leash and is sometimes a little too unruly with the older (significantly smaller) dog we have in the house. I bought this to help him on walks, so he wasn’t pulling, and it works AMAZING! He wears it really well. He’s not a huge fan, but he does a fantastic job wearing it. He doesn’t fight with it to try and remove it while walking with it. I have also put it on him in the house, when he goes after the other dog, trying to play, but she is older, smaller, and entirely uninterested. I can usually clip both ends to his collar, if I do not want to hold him with a leash, and he will settle down. He can slip out of it that way, though, if there is no tension keeping it tightened. And it does NOT tighten to the point of being too small or harming him, so there’s no worry about that, even when he does try to pull on the leash and it tightens around his snout.

Jenn: Great fit, easy to put on and works like magic to walk our adult 140 lb mastiffs with ease. Zero pulling from the minute we put them on. Highly recommend! Fits exactly as stated in the size chart.

Random Defence:
Pro: Lots of flexibility for fit around the snout and back of head, quality materials
Cons: Ensure sizing is correct for your dog.
I've been using Gentle Leader for our lab, and over time, with their still constant pulling it would begin to wear. We ended up going through two of them in as many years. To try something different, we switched to this Halti and were immediately impressed. The buckles are larger and easier to use, the padding is nicer, it doesn't leave a mark on my dogs' snout like the gentle leader, and it's easier to size around the head. Just make sure you get the correct size if you think your snout area is too tight.

Billy Maguire:
I have been using halti collars for my dogs since 1997. I purchased the first for a black german shepard who, in his prime, weighed 105 lbs. The halti allowed me to easily control my dog even when passing by other people and dogs. I was able to keep full control of my dog with out any extra strain.
Now I have a black lab who just turned one. I have just purchased my second halti because the first was ready to break. I believe the first would still be in good shape except for the fact the the shepard did managed to gnaw on it once and compromised it's integrity.
If I were to compare the original to the one I just received, there are two things of note. 1. The new one has a padded strap that goes across the nose for a little more comfort. 2. The quality of the nylon straps differ. The first one has a thicker ply of nylon strapping and each section was held together by a metal loop. The newer is still made of nylon but slightly thinner and the sections are sewn together. Time will tell of the durability of the newer version.
Overall, I recommend using a halti for walking a dog. It takes a little time for the dog to get used to wearing...

***This is a long, detailed review based on my experiences with head collars and my large breed dog.***
I have a 105 lb. malamute that likes to get in touch with is "ancestral side" and pull. He doesn't chase anything, he just likes pulling. I have tried harnesses (as suggested to me by his breeder), but it made him pull even more. I then discovered head collars! I have tried three: The Gentle Leader, Halti, and Walk n' Train by Coastal Pets. I'll list some pro's and con's based of my dog and explain why I prefer the Halti over the other two. Lastly, I'll give a little suggestion for those who want to start using head collars.
