PopnFresh: I purchased a pair of the 8000mAh D Cell Batteries in 2014, to run a liquid transfer pump. It's the only use the batteries had. I recently went to charge them and one battery would not take a charge.
They provide a lot of power and do seem to maintain their charge while stored. However, I have some NiMH batteries that have lived two or three times as long. Then again, this was one battery out of a purchase of two. 🤷♂️ I will likely purchase the same brand as replacement.

Special Five-Point Plan: I fell in love with a mid-1970s restored Copal flip clock that calls for a D battery with 1.5 V. I wasn't sure if these would work as they are 1.2 V, but most sources I checked said they should be OK. I hope to keep the clock for a long time, so I wanted rechargeables to minimize battery waste.
These are working great. I asked the clock restorer and he recommended to charge them once per month, so that's what I'm doing so far. They seem like good quality. I would buy this brand of rechargeables again.

Joe: I bought these D batteries on 12/21/2011 for my Mag lite that sit around most of the time waiting to be used, I paid a whopping $46.26 for 4 D size batteries, that's $11.56 each !! I have only had to recharge them about 5 or 6 times in the last 8 years, 2 weeks ago I was using my Mag Lite at to see what was making noise out in the yard, the lite started dyeing, dimmer and dimmer, removed them from Mag Lite to do a discharge and then a recharge, 1 battery was all wet and leaking and spitting fluid, battery was making snap, crackle, pop, hiss sounds, and didn't stop for over 30 minutes, the hole top of the positive cap of the battery was covered with a white crust,, TRIED TO CONTACT THE SELLER, TO SEE IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO MAKE GOOD,,, NO REPLY !!! NO RESPONCE !!!! , So far 2 out of 4 of these D-cell rechargeable batteries have gone bad, I have a Tenergy smart charger to recharge the batteries, the batteries haven't even been recharged more then 20 times, for the price and reliability, I would not recomend, and will not buy again !

Joseph Wolfe: buy these if you want rechargable Nimh D cells. Do not buy the energizer version as they have a fraction of the amphours.
note: if you are putting these in a standard flashlight with old fashioned bulb you will not be happy. the voltage output is somewhat less than old style batteries. you will want to buy some LEDs that work on the lower voltage. between the LEDs and the rechargable batteries you'll spend about $25 to make your flashlight rechargable and long lasting. it's worth it.
