Tenacity Turf Herbicide | 8 oz Bottle | Effective Weed Control for Lawns

AZ: Worked great for my fall overseed! No new weeds with most of the existing weeds turning white and dying about 2 weeks after application. Germination was unimpeded and grass is about ready for first mow at the 4 week mark (probably could have mowed sooner but Halloween decorations are in the way). It doesn't knock out clover though so be mindful of that if clover is your main issue. Application took place October 6th not far from Raleigh, NC for date used and location reference.

JJT: If you realize crabgrass is your target weed this is the solution. No other weed killer I found labeled to kill crabgrass works like this stuff. I had spots in my yard before that I couldn’t get rid of but this year it seemed I had more than ever and had to try and find something. I mixed according to instructions in a pump sprayer (used Dawn) and spot sprayed. It is very slow, may take five days for you to notice crabgrass turning white. I agree with another reviewer that if you sprayed your entire yard you’d probably see white spots all over the place as you probably have more crabgrass than you think. When it starts to turn white it’s almost like it keeps growing though, very weird. I cut the grass, sprayed, it started turning white about five days later, then the white crabgrass kept growing, I sprayed again, so you may have to as well. Not sure if that was really necessary because some spots that I didn’t hit the second time are dying. It will eventually start turning black at the base of the crabgrass and that’s when you know for sure death is near. Didn’t harm my centipede.

Glenn C.: Works fast on grassy weeds but not so well on broad leaf so make sure you check to be sure it will address your specific weed problem or you'll be disappointed. Weeds will start to turn white within a day which is pretty satisfying. Bottle is expensive but it goes a long way. The syringe they provide is tough to use without knocking the bottle over or ripping the plunger out.

Douglas S Freeman: I have been trying for some years to identify and control the undesirable lawn grass called nimblewill. I thought it was Bermuda grass, which is similar, but it is somewhat different.

The nimblewill has been slowly and consistently spreading and taking over my lawn for a number of years. It probably had taken about 20% of the lawn (about 0.7 acre lot). I thought it was pretty much hopeless. None of the lawn weed killers or crabgrass killers that don't harm the desirable grass will phase it. I thought I would have to roundup huge areas or most of the yard to get rid of it.

The Tenacity is expensive, $60 or so for 8 oz. But for the number of gallons it makes (you use a syringe to measure it out, and it only takes about 1/2 teaspoon per gallon), it's really not that much more expensive than any other lawn herbicides or general vegetation killers for that matter. I have mixed and sprayed 22 gallons of the Tenacity, 2 gallons at a time, and I have only used about 1/3 of the bottle. I also used a surfactant, which is relatively any expensive and is supposed to increase the effectiveness. The Tenacity is a tanish, milky liquid. You don't want to get it on you. I was careful...
