robert thompson: These are the best "bang for your buck" diamond pastes you can find. Most affordable diamond pastes have little to no abrasives and are basically all oil. Not these. These work extremely well. I use them to get mirror polished on my knives. Would definitely recommend.

Steven Moore: Polished a lens on a 360 camera that I had tip over...a few times. Worked pretty good id say for surface scratches. Don't expect the coating to be there anymore though

John D.: Stick with the green polishing compounds. This has very little in the way of any polishing action on the strop.

Sweet tooth: This is the first time I've ever written a negative review, but I just had to because it was a total waste of money.
Now maybe it's a fluke and I got a bad product, but I don't see how this could even be accidental.
I got the 10 micron diamond paste that I am using to polish a knife blade. It came with that kind of dark oxide finish which I'm not a bit fan of.
After putting a generous amount of diamond paste on the blade and applying a bit of wd-40 as lube and to thin it out, I rubbed all over the blade for a good 10 minutes. It didn't seem like much was happening so I turned over the cloth I was using and it looked exactly the same as before I started.
It had a green tint to it from the color of the paste and that's all. No dark grey or black color which you would expect from using a polish on steel.
I repeated it a second time just to be sure that maybe it wasn't just that the beginning might have not had any diamonds in case they weren't evenly spread, but I got the exact same result, nothing.
I also repeated it with a different diamond paste I have from another brand and within a couple minutes the cloth was turning black.
So either I got unlucky...

Chris: I was thankful for the reviews regarding this and I still had my doubts. I had nothing to worry about. This worked like a charm. Polished up my sapphire on my Tag Heuer of over 19yrs. Used a Dremel with a very soft pad, applied some of this on the surface of the crystal, turned on the Dremel on the lowest setting (which is pretty damn quick as it is..) and gently worked it into the crystal. I had nothing to fear because after barely 3-5 min's, it cleaned up the crystal super fine!!
Can't tell you how relieved and pleased I was with the results. My time piece is practically brand new! Very very happy with it!

J-Chord: So, like many others I set out looking for a solution for scratches on an Apple Watch. In my case it was the Apple Watch Sport (which uses the ionized hardened glass instead of sapphire crystal). This was cheap enough to try without taking a loss because of a lot of conflicting stories out there if this works or not. To cut to the chase, did it work? Sort of. The scratches after about 15 minutes of polishing last night are still there, pretty visible in the right light/angle. This morning though, it was barely noticeable (looking at it in natural light instead of a lamp overhead). The scratches look a lot more faint than they were. I plan on doing a bit more polishing with it and see how that works. I think if I got a slightly higher grit (maybe the 0.5-1um paste set) I would have had a faster results (going from 1 to 0.5). 5/5 stars as it does seem to work to buff out the scratches, but it does take some elbow grease from the user, and this isn’t just like a wipe on and off sort of solution; you really have to buff and polish it for some time.

Amazon Customer: This does work great but I had some trouble at first. My final grit when sharpening is 10,000 and at first my strop loaded with this compound was leaving bigger scratches on the edge, which led my to think this compound is lower grit than it claims. However the problem was in how I was loading the strop, now it removes the 10k grit scratch pattern.
I'll try to explain how to load the strop. First it needs several hours or better yet overnight to dry. When I first loaded the strop I used a few drops and a plastic spatula to cover the strop surface and then let it sit. This didn't work. Now I use a few drops and work this in with my finger tip, if it soaks in immediately I'll add a little more, until the surface feels saturated (this still isn't much, maybe 4-5 drops total) and then keep using my finger to work it in until a nice flat, even sheen appears. Then I leave it to dry overnight.
This sounds way more complicated than it is, just make sure you work it in, with and against the strop grain and make sure the compound itself is thoroughly mixed up (no big shiney flakes in the mixture and no spots on the strop where it's thicker or thinner than any other spot).
Now it's...

SLentz: Using 1.5micron (12000 grit) I was able to bring my knives from sharp to razor sharp. I started with a 1000 grit water stone, then a 6000 grit water stone, then the 1.5 micron paste on a leather strop. The difference in sharpness between the 6000 grit and 12000 grit is actually very noticeable. Also, I found that when I dulled a knife, I was able to bring the edge back just with the strop and the paste.
For folks having trouble with using a leather strop with this paste, I have few recommendations: 1. Use just enough to lay a bead of paste crosswise on the strop (many folks are using too much), then while it is still wet, use your knife to spread it (and sharpen the knife) and continually spread the paste on the leather. The color will not be uniformly spread (it will be kind of patchy and swirled) - don't worry about that very much, the diamonds will be in the leather. 2. The next few times you use the strop, DO NOT put more paste on, just use the dried paste from the first application. If the paste comes off in flakes or clumps, then you put too much paste on originally. Don't worry about that too much either, just keep using the strop and wiping the clumps off the knife....
