K&R in SD: Can I blame the product when the compound stick is fragile? I dropped one of mine the first day and it split into about 6 pieces on the floor. Still works fine but the sticks do break easily. The product does work well.

Amazon Customer: Like some others have said.. there was no real packaging like in the picture. They just came in a zip lock bag and each one was shrink wrapped. Each one is about 4.5 inches long and almost 1 inch thick. These are really the only 4 types you will need to get up and running with most polishing materials. Great for Gold and Silver items. These should last an experienced, novice or beginner jeweler at least a year easily. If your running a commercial operation and your polishing items every single day.. You might want larger blocks. Geoff: the bars came individually shrink wrapped and in a ziplock bag. so the packaging and instructions in the picture are not included. i would have rated it 5 stars if the packaging was included. the product itself is great, as described and perfect for buffing wheels.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: The Amazon and vendor information on this product is lacking. Amazon should include the picture of the back of the packaging as shown in my photo. I was looking only to polish steel, but was unsure so I order this set. OnceI received, I realized I only needed the black. I recommend that if you are looking to polish one particular metal, that you buy just the polishing stick you need, and not the full set. Even the Enkay website was not clear on which color applies to which metal. So I bought three extra sticks that I don't really need at this time, so thats why my value rating is low. The sticks are easy to use, but you do need a buffing wheel. As other commenters have noted, this is a stick of hard, wax like substance and you apply it directly to the buffing wheel as its rotating and you are polishing the part, The picture of the polished item was a very rusted knob from an old South Bend lathe. You can still see some of the pits from the rust, but the Enkay black stick and buffing wheel did remove the rust and it polished up nicely and has a nice shine now.
