Lara Simonian: I once had a licorice carmel candy at a store and it was amazing. I've been searching for such an item ever since. This one is pretty good. I didn't fall in love - it was like taffy but a bit too sticky. It's also quite pricey. But for licorice lovers like me, it's worth the try!

MBlazMBlaz: I have purchased these several times! This is by far the best, softest black licorice caramel I’ve ever had & I love licorice! It’s expensive, but so good I thought it was worth the splurge. However, this shipment all 3 containers were a BIG mess! And I have had previous orders during summer weather that we’re not like this. Clearly they all melted and oozed out, what a sticky mess! Don’t know if you can tell by the photos but all 3 containers had licorice all over the inside.

Hzwyfee: I read the other reviews and still chose to purchase these. I’ve bought every other flavor they have and am pleased with them although the salted caramel is the best (imo) If you are a lover of that HARSH licorice flavor you get from black (Red Vines) licorice this probably isn’t for you. If you’d like a subtle flavor of that type of licorice then you’ll be pleased with this. I wanted to see if they were able to take their delicious creamy buttery caramel goodness and give it a black licorice taste. I was hoping it didn’t taste like real black licorice and it doesn’t. I think they delivered quite well with this one. I still think it’s a lot and ever only eat one piece at a time. It was $14.89 when I bought the 20oz jar. That works out to about .3 per piece for 50 pieces of deliciousness.
It’s worth it because they will last me a long time. I give it 5/5 ⭐️

Roberta Rankin: Years ago while in a Glasgow candy shop I found what looked like chunks of coal. I'm a huge fan of black licorice but am fussy abt texture and flavor. A few days ago I spotted Tara's Licorice Caramels. I took a chance as they are a little costly BUT thought if they were what I l had in Scotland they'd be an extra-special treat (and considerably less expensive than a trip to get them...or even to have them shipped.)
Although they are not the same candy they are a delicious choice! The differences are small, not enough to justify points off as they are due to personal preference. Because I do like licorice I wished there were a tad more flavoring..it is a gentle strength. The candy is a slightly different texture. Tara's is a caramel vs a toffee I had previously so it melts easily in your mouth. They didn't remotely stick to my teeth but that means the candy dissolves more quickly than the Scottish toffee. I'm quite happy with this find but still long for a box of the other..orn alas, maybe its just the memories I'm seeking........
