TapeCase's 1/2-5-423-5 423-5 UHMW Tape Roll is the perfect sealant and adhesive tape for your project. Measuring 1/2 inch wide by 15 feet long, this abrasion-resistant, high-tack acrylic adhesive tape offers superior overall satisfaction, value for money, and quality of material. It's ideal for sound dampening as it eliminates squeaks caused by adjacent parts movement and its impact-resistant backing ensures protection of surfaces against abrasion. Plus, it helps to increase sliding action on metal, concrete, tile and other surfaces.Laura Pratt: I bought an old refinished bedroom set but the drawers on the nightstands and dresser were a pain and sticking horribly, this worked amazingly to have the drawers slide smoothly! Fantastic product

Luke Robot: I used this to take some of the play in the slide on my mitre fence for my table saw.
I but a piece down each side and trimmed off the excess with a knife.
The adhesive seems quite strong and the thickness was perfect. Slides smooth and no play.
It’s also really cool to say ultra high molecular weight tape. I feel like Sheldon.

memobugmemobug: I used this tape in the 1/2 and 3/4” widths to correct some sticky drawers in an 18th century desk. I used 1/2” in the bottom of the drawers and 3/4” on the top of the rails
1) Tape is sticky, but clean your surfaces well. I had a century of accumulated dirt and sawdust from the surfaces grinding on each other.
2) make sure surfaces are smooth. I had some pointed finishing nail tips coming up into the lower rails. Those need to be sanded, filed or removed to prevent the tape from snagging
Measure, cut, peel and stick. Burnish things down well.
As a result I was able to get the drawers of this old desk sliding freely in about 20 minutes, and the repair is not destructive of this old antique.
I used more tape than I thought I would. This 5- drawer desk had long rails, about 18-24 inches, which means nearly 8 feet of tape per drawer, about consuming all of the two rolls. But now I can open the drawers with one hand!

Karen: What a simple solution to a problem that I’d been living with for YEARS! I thought I’d have to buy some kind of hardware to deal with these old creaky wooden drawers. A few strips of this tape has improved my life.

John M: On two dressers, I removed the drawers (9 in total), and vacuumed the wood tracks to remove any dust or loose wood bits. Measured the track length, and cut the tape piece to size.
The adhesive is strong, so it was a little tricky to separate the backing, but that's a good problem! I used a not-too-sharp knife to peel back the first inch or so of the backing paper, then positioned the exposed end of the tape at the back of the track. After attaching the first inch, I held the rest up a few inches, stretched to the front of the track, and positioned above where it would go. Gently pulling the "tab" of partially removed backing paper, I let the tape down onto the track, guiding it carefully into position (it's strong adhesive, so don't let it stick to the side of the wood track bar!). I then finished by pressing the whole length with a couple of fingers.
Did all 9 drawers in a little over an hour. Now have both dressers back in operation, and the drawers slide like they're on air (well, almost).
Good product, will probably find more uses for it.

David: Using it to make hockey goalie pads slide on gym floor. Works great but starts ripping after a few games. Pretty good while is lasts though!

Kindle Customer: I bought this to refurb a $10 hardwood dresser I found at the Re-Store. You just can't find good dovetailed furniture for that price anymore. Before using the tape and even after a good sanding from 80 on up to 120 these drawers stuck pretty badly and this tape made a world of difference. 1/2" was just the perfect size, but if you're unsure which size you need or you're like my wife who couldn't read a tape measure to save her life just get a size bigger than you think. More slippery is better than less slippery and this cuts very easily with an Exacto or utility blade. Simply apply the tape then run the blade along the edge of the slide to remove the excess, but whatever size you get make sure you prep prep prep.
I'm sure an inch or two per side per drawer would have sufficed but due to the design of my dresser I applied a strip to the entire length of both slides and I think it helped. I don't feel any "wood on wood" contact anymore. I also applied bits to either side of the frame because there is no lateral (side to side) support for the drawers in this dresser and I could feel it rubbing. I used the entire 5 yards for an average sized 5 drawer dresser so buy...

Wiffee: Edit: Adding 11/2018, just wanted to jump back on and add that it's now been 2 years and the tape is still going strong in our dresser. We have had no issues at all, still a great find!
My husband has a dresser that his mother got for him from an antique shop when he was a child. We had it in my son's room but were trying to decide if we should replace it with a newer dresser because my son couldn't get the drawers opened and closed - I barely could! The drawers are heavy and run on some kind of wood tongue and groove system, so basically we were trying to open this heavy wooden drawer that just slid along a wood piece inside a wood piece (I know, bad description) and they would barely move. We like the dresser so I decided to buy some of this tape to see if it would allow us to keep using the dresser.
My husband applied the tape to the drawer slides in less than 10 minutes and it works PERFECTLY!!! The drawers now slide freely with hardly any effort. This was a really cheap solution that saved us a ton of money on a new piece of furniture. It's been a few months since we put the tape on so with no decrease in performance. We also have a bunch of this tape still left...

MsBall: I know we have inflation, but not 300x inflation.
Aside from that, a helpful product for sticky old drawers & wrapping the shower bar so the hooks don't get stuck.
