jen: My five year old son LOVES this book. Maybe as the second child he can relate to feeling a little left out. THe story is really cute, and also educational about different types of food. We got this in our Amazon book subscription, and it's one of our favorites!

Mallory Cameron: My 4 year old adores this books! It has been his go-to to grab off the shelf lately, which makes my mom heart happy. It’s an adorable book about inclusion and diversity using different types of food trucks! So so cute!

Jason Harrington: The only reason I don't give this five stars is that I want the message to hit harder. My son is only three but from this story I think he is getting more of an interest in food trucks themselves rather than the inclusion theme that this book puts forth as the moral of the story. That said, this book is very charming. The color pallete and the references to foods my son knows nothing about are things I love in this book. Kids books can tend to have fairly modest art, but the big spreads in these colors really do provide total presentation for a bedtime story. The amount of text on each page keeps the pace moving quickly. Overall this is a well-designed book that you are likely to enjoy. My hang up with the message, to be fair, is an issue I have with a lot of kids books that try to teach with symbols and end up with a sort of vaguguely useful example situation for teaching. We read this book often though. It keeps his attention, does not annoy me, and there is no chance for my son to learn the wrong thing from this book.

Cassandra Quave: This book brings forward a bigger message of the need for understanding and acceptance of people and things that may be initially perceived as different. The main character is a food truck that finds his “normal spot” taken by other food trucks of different ethnicities. His initial reaction to the new situation was anger- but the author quickly draws us to a happy ending of acceptance and joy from friendship with the other trucks. My 6 year old loves this book, which also features great illustrations in addition to the story. I love it as a parent because it opens the door for discussion of different ethnic foods and people of different cultural backgrounds. It highlights the importance of diversity in our everyday lives.

Robinson, JH: Little Taco Truck is a beautifully illustrated book that ties together diversity, inclusion, and courage in a way in which little ones can understand and relate. The personification of the food trucks brings to life the exciting and diverse world of street foods in the US while also telling the story of how one little food truck finds himself adapting to his changing world. I read it to my son's preschool class and the kids were really excited about the illustrations, personalities, and all the vibrant words. Little Taco Truck is great all around and one of my 5 year old's favorite books.
