Looking for the best camping grill? Look no further than the Coleman RoadTrip LXE Portable Gas Grill! This propane grill offers superior heat resistance, easy maintenance, a compact size, and sturdy construction. With Coleman, you can be sure you're getting a reliable and durable grill that will last for years to come. Get ready to hit the road and enjoy your favorite grilled meals with the Coleman RoadTrip LXE Portable Gas Grill!Steven J.: This was my second purchase of a Coleman Road Trip after many years with the first one. I found the first noticeable difference was the thickness of the cooking grates. This new one was noticeably thinner. This little grill has served our family well just as the old one has. Not too easy to clean as food will quickly cook to the stainless steel liner since it's close to the flame. Once a year it gets a good scrubbing with BBQ cleaner and I can almost get it back to new. Unless the quality totally deteriorates I'll buy another one in 5-10 years if this one goes.

LorryLorry: I really wanted to like this! I was going to buy a Napoleon/Weber grill but I am historically a huge fan of Coleman, so I decided to get one of these because of the built in stand - You let me down. You let yourself down, Coleman!
The most obvious thing (and it becomes obvious the second you try to move it!) is that they put the really flimsy lid lock on the wrong way around so "unlock" is down, towards the wheels and the ever-present pull of gravity. As soon as you try to wheel it, the catch opens up, the lid flies open and you lose the griddles. If you are not on grass, you probably chip the griddles too. There's basically no way to wheel this and keep the griddles inside, I simply can't understand how they didn't spot and change this instantly. I notice the newer model has the lock inverted, so it locks towards the wheels. This might seem like a small thing, but it ruins any concept of being able to wheel it.
It also looks like you should be able to stand it up on end on the wheels. Don't kid yourself, you can't.... The handle gets in the way so it will always be on a slant.
Since I am here, the grill plates don't fit. There's no "comfortable resting place"...

Tom Cain: We don't camp or go RVing, but we only barbeque 10-12 per year, so we couldn't see the sense on spending $600-$1200 on a new full-size barbeque. This is perfect for us. Sizable grill space for a small barbeque and it collapses for easy storage in our garden shed so it's out of the elements. The pull-out trays are handy and the igniter needs no battery. I would recommend putting aluminum foil around the burners for easier cleaning. The only complaint I have with this are the wheels. They are cheap molded plastic and will fall apart in no time. I replaced them with 6" solid rubber wheels. Much better.

Experienced ReviewerExperienced Reviewer: I got this great little gas grill for our smallish deck. We like a small grill, but all the smaller grills are usually crappy quality. I love that this one has nice cast iron grates, and that it takes these little portable tanks instead of that giant big gas container. We have used it so far three or four times and still have gas.
We generally do not cook giant meals, just burgers, and hotdogs and stuff like that. This grill fits our needs very well, but be aware that if you are going to keep it outside like we do that you will need a cover because if it rains the cover does not completely cover the grill and your grill will fill up with water. I am guessing over time it will mean you need a new grill! I just ordered the cover for this grill.
The grill is super easy to put together. All you have to do is snap on the end with the wheels and attach the wheels. Then put the thing that attaches the gas canister and the gas can. You have to screw the thing onto the gas container and then attach it to the grill. I did have to do it twice because I did not get it connected just right I guess, because when I first turned it on I was not getting any gas. Then I sort of gave...

Habibur Mirza: Got it in good condition and assembly was quick & easy. pulling it up to stand up position is easy with care due to heavy weight. Once you know how to do it, it is not a challenge but you need to know that it is heavy and may fall badly on ground if it is not secured against the bent hooks. Side trays come out OK and helpful for sure, just the size would have been a bit longer to hold any medium size pot comfortably.
I would agree with some other reviewers that the wheels feel wobbling when pulling on grass or uneven surface and the cover/grill grate moves quite a bit as well. Cover should been more secured with a lock/latch so that it does not open to secure the part inside firmly unless someones intends to open.
Connecting regulator and with 1 Lb gas cylinder was quick and both burners fire with one or two try of the igniter. but I had huge trouble when I tried to connect the Grill to my NEW 20 Lb propane tank using my new SHINESTRAP 5ft hose/adapter that I ordered with the RoadTrip Grill. At first attempt of connection, I had a little flame in both burners and I thought it started working fine, then suddenly the flames died and there was no gas at the burners....

J. Weaver: What I like about this grill:
- Easily fits into back of station wagon
- Stands on its own, no need to bring a table to put it on
- Easy enough to clean
- Even has the side table to lay your utensils or put a plate on for when you are ready to get your food off of the grill
- Can cook with the lid down, very handy for cold/windy/non-ideal weather
- Priced very nicely for a grill that works almost as good as a full-size grill and is portable
I have used this grill twice and it is a replacement for an older model Coleman camp stove/grill that I have owned for years. I have also used a number of full-sized grills, and I will review this grill as it compares to others that I have used.
The Coleman Road Trip LXE is larger and heavier than it appears in the picture. It completely dwarfs the older Coleman camp stove/grill that it replaced, and a visual comparison of the grill plates suggests that it has about twice the surface area. It may also be twice as heavy. This grill is portable only in the sense that you can get it in and out of the back of most vehicles easily and it has wheels so you can roll it to your setup location. This is not something I...
