Very loud beeping and the shock is solid

Jeff P.: We purchased three of these product. For couple of months it works great but did not last long. I did not made initial review when I got it as I want to see how the product holds. Unfortunately, couple of months ago the 60” one stop working, no beep no static. The other 36” one stop working a month after. Also, battery only lasted a month to month and half of usage. Is it worth it? The technology yes but the build quality is not there.

Sadie: I have 2 cats, both one and a half years old and they like to climb onto my dresser or desk when I'm away at work. They also like to climb on the bed and mess with the covers so sometimes I come back from work to my bed unmade and some things knocked off of tables. I've tried aluminum foil and they don't mind the crinkly noise and will try to play with it. Sticky tape also didn't work on them either.
I was a little hesitant about the shock intensity and I won't test it at its highest setting. The beep noise is pretty loud even on the low end but the shock sensation at its lowest setting is the equivalent to getting a mild static shock.
I put down this mat on the bed and after one time with the mat on the lowest shock/alert noise setting neither of the cats mess with the bed covers now. Then I moved the mat to my desk and after one of the cats jumping up and stepping on the mat once, they no longer try and get onto the desk. I plan to get one or two more mats in different sizes to cover my bed and the dresser and desk.
The instructions were easy to follow and after a few weeks of use, I don't have to turn the mat on anymore. The cats have quickly learned to...

Truthfullness does matter: I was at wits end living with "box blockades" stacked on my furniture to keep my furballs off and tired of living like that (not to mention having to move the boxes whenever friends came by) so these scat mats are a blessing. They work & I have quit yelling and threatening their lives :)

Svetlana: It worked great at the beginning, but only twice. After that it is stuck in a continuous bipping mode. According to the instructions, it does it when it is wet or dirty. I cleaned and air dried, and tried it it on non-contact surface it repeatedly to no avail. Sadly have to return it and bacj to the hunt for the one that will work.

Jenn Anderson: our cats loved to get on the counter to punt glasses of water onto the floor, to eat butter out of the dish, to chase a fly or moth that got in, to scout for snacks off a dirty dish in the sink... this mat has been helping to train them to stay off the counter! i think they've only landed on it a few times and that was enough to make them not want to check the counters out anymore.
i still reset it before bed every night just in case they opt to try again. your counter does have to be clean and dry for it to work. i took one star off only because i feel like the product is quite expensive for what it is. $50 is a lot to cover one small area of counterspace.

Beth Ann: The media could not be loaded. My dog is constantly on the kitchen table eating the cat food as soon as I leave the room. My hope was to use this while my kitty was not around to deter him from getting on the table. He just stands on it while eating away. I have tried laying the mat several ways, and it just doesn't work. In the attached video, you can hear that it doesn't even beep until he is already done and is leaving the mat. This is with it set to the highest setting. It does work when I place my hand on it, but doesn't seem to connect with his paws being on the smaller side.
In addition, I would like to add that the directions mention "You must clean and thoroughly shave the soles of your pet's paws, otherwise, it will affect the use of the product". Tell me, how many of you are taking your furry friend for a pedicure these days and/or shaving the little paws? This company expects consumers to shave their pet's feet? Further, my dog doesn't have much hair on his feet, so the product not working had no bearing on the fact that his feet were not shaved. Save your $, and hope you find something that really works.

Kindle Customer: This is the first nights sleep I've gotten in months. I have 2 male fixed cats that both have severe separation anxiety and just cannot stand when the humans in the house go to sleep. (And we love our furbabies, we've had them since we took a foster pregnant momma in, and she gave birth to them in our house, so getting rid of them is a nogo). So, they scratch and scream outside my door all night, and if the bedroom door is open, prepared to get feet attacked, face slapped, or elbows bit. I put this mat outside my door, and all I can say is, I wish I could throw all of the wasted money on all of the collars/medicine/calming crap I've spent trying to 'calm' my cats, and put that every penny into this company/mat/whomever invented this. It worked. I want to scream with happiness, cry, laugh; I can't even explain how happy my wife and I are to finally be getting some sleep now.
FYI: We put it on static lvl 3 right off the bat. Both our cats touched it once and never came back to it again. They're very clever cats: open doors, scratch their way into and out of cabinets, but they instantly gave up and never tried to work their way around it (which we thought they would). And they...

Gangrene: Cannot be used to prevent a pet from passing over the mat.
My cats learned that there is a delay between the detection and the shock, and run quickly over it. They've also started chewing the edges which I think will make the mat unusable soon.
And it seems that they have learned to not touch two wires (cat paws are small enough for that) and so to not trigger the detection.
So it can be used to prevent pets from staying on top of the mat (if they are not too furry and wet) but it can't serve as a sort of barrier if your pet is a bit smart.

Tricky Corgi: My corgi is sneaky. She gets onto my couch whenever we aren’t home or sleeping. Then she gets onto the coffee table and chews anything.
I bought this mat in hopes of stopping her, and it worked like a charm.
I really like the options of less of a zap because she’s not a huge dog.
