Adam: The brightness works well. The alarm has to be set every day which is annoying. It feels and looks a bit cheap, but thats a bit expected for the lower price. Ultimately it works as a brightness wake up alarm.

Devyn: I am incredibly sensitive to daylight changes and really struggle to be functional during the winter because of this. I was gifted a sunrise simulator clock as a teenager as a gag gift and fell in love with how easy I wake up to it. I have since replaced the one I originally got and have gifted this to others. I work in healthcare and often work 24hr + or shifts and this helps me acclimatize much faster than if I was using just a sleep mask. I will say, the key is sleeping in a dark room to begin with, so that the light is that much more contrasting but it will change your mornings

JP: This is overall a very good alarm clock. It really does make me feel more refreshed in the morning to wake up to this than to a dark room.

Two things would turn this into a 5-star review:
1) You can select what level of brightness you want the light to start at when it's time to wake up. But, even the lowest setting wakes me up immediately rather than gradually. To fix this, I wrap a solid-color t-shirt over the top, and it's just fine.
2) If you have to unplug it, you have to reset the clock and the alarm time. The controls take a little getting used to, so this isn't the absolute easiest process.

Joy: I appreciated the providence of stickers to label the different functions. The brightness levels seem suitable for me. One drawback and issue I would like resolve is about the CR2032 battery. The one provided, and the one I bought, don't seem to power on the clock.

Firstly, I found the brightness of the wake-up light to be somewhat lacking. Although it does its job in gently waking me up, I wish the light could be a bit brighter for a more effective experience. However, this is a minor issue and doesn't significantly impact the overall performance of the alarm clock.

Joo Y. Chung: The room I sleep in does not get any direct sunlight in the morning. The only real reliable way I could get up was a typical alarm clock. But even then, I felt groggy and unprepared for the day.

Enter the Sunrise alarm clock. Oh boy, this thing has completely changed my mornings. I set the time I want to wake, set how long I want the "sun" to take to "rise", say 30 minutes, then go to sleep.

30 minutes before my alarm time, the "sun" starts to rise. The light is dim, very orange at first, then gradually gets brighter and whiter until it reaches full intensity at the time I set for the alarm. I also have it play some bird and nature sounds to round things out. It's a much nicer way to wake up than a typical alarm. I often find myself gently awaked about 10-15 before full brightness; I then lie in bed and start thinking about my plans for the day until the light hits full brightness. I wake up gently, refreshed. It's a wonderful experience.
