Mother of 5 Girls: We bought this for a wedding. (We also bought a more heavy duty wooden arch too.) The idea was that the bride (my niece) would have this covered in greenery with drapery attached to hide her until she walked through at the beginning of the aisle. This arch can be built two ways. Either very tall and narrow OR wide and short. To accommodate the drapes, they built the arch with the wide version which I don’t recommend. A tiny bit of artificial greenery and drapes were enough for it to start to bow in the middle, and we had to reinforce it with wooden dowels zip tied to the sides and the top. It worked, but it was just extra work for us. Perhaps a taller and narrow arch would have been more sturdy. Also, if you make the taller version, two people have to be very close to walk through it, and if you make the wider version, it’s really hard for a tall person to walk through without ducking. No matter what the measurements say, this has to be somewhat stuck in the ground to keep it from blowing over. For the price, I didn’t expect too much, so not too disappointed. You get what you pay for.

Jill Gilbert: I needed a wide sturdy arbor for a large climbing rose. This one is working great! We added a garden stake pounded into the ground to the inside of each corner and made sure the whole thing was level. Very happy with the quality and the price! :)

Janelle crawford: It was a fast delivery I realised it wasn’t going to be a very sturdy framework, but I am contented with my purchase. It will do the job for what I need.

Tony: Great product for the price. A little flimsy and may only last a couple seasons even with breaking down for the winter and reassembly in spring.

Ryan H.Ryan H.: So my application is a little far out, but essentially I'm using this arch as a decorative way to run irrigation tubing from one section of the yard into a filled-in pool. Not wanting to build my own just yet out of wood, I stumbled across this product. For the price, I figured it was worth a shot. It was pretty easy to assemble, took maybe 30 minutes by myself.

My first impression upon regarding the final assembly is that it's not going to be perfectly straight. The steel tubes just are not thick nor toleranced well enough (probably by design to make it easier to assemble). My second impression was that whatever weather-resistant coating they put on it is just a gimmick. I noticed rust within 24 hours, but really only around the screw heads and the ends of the tube pieces. The majority of the tube shell is still fine though, but I don't expect this structure to last more than a few years staying outside.

On the flip side, this is strong enough to support a rational amount of weight. I wouldn't count on hanging a bunch of planters (at least in the middle), but it does support the weight of water distribution tubing. Maybe even a heavy a garden hose draped over the...

Busy ProfBusy Prof: Meet Godzilla, who started life as a tabletop gift and had taken over the side of my house every summer since. (100% of the growth is from the last 60 days).

I put Godzilla's new home together this morning. There aren't instructions, per se, but the diagram is pretty easy to follow. I was worried I'd have trouble moving the finished product and getting it sunk in the ground, but it was easier than I thought.

With no crossbars spanning the width of the finished construction, I anticipate needing to attach it to the house in some way as the plant gets heavier, but we'll see.

D Mayer: I was a bit bummed when I saw the tiny box the pergola arrived in as I knew it was not going to be very sturdy. The poles are only 1/2” in diameter and made of very thin metal. I do not think it will last more than one season, but will give it a go anyway. I had originally planned to grow kiwi vines on it, but now feel it might only be suited for lighter annual vines such as morning glories, etc. I highly doubt it would hold up if built with the advertised 7’5” width option (the one I was interested in), so perhaps the 4.6 foot might be a wiser choice to shoot for. The box was crushed at one end even though it arrived in a larger Amazon box that was in tact, but had zero inner packaging to keep it from bouncing around inside. Take care opening the pergola box as the screws were all loose inside. Fingers crossed!

Kali: Unfortunately I returned it before setting up this product. I like the width tho ( people are able walk under it ) : I am considering another purchase early next spring to give more time for climbing plants ( in my case a mass of clematis that had its big fir tree removed and has taken over whereever it can crawl to 🤣)
There are lots of pieces but the box it came in was not big ( helpful ). Would make a fun project putting it together - I just discovered it too late in the year.

JustAMonkey: Hey guys, so I bought this for our backyard and just wanted to give a 'long term' review for those interested: this pergola isn't really sturdy, it falls easily and the metal itself is almost like soffit panels, very soft and malleable, meaning it's easy to bend.

This isn't a great option for long term outdoor exposure because it's not very sturdy and prong to rust, however it's $40 bucks so I'm fairly happy with it being a one-time use purchase. If you need something sturdy and longer lasting, I'd buy something a bit more expensive, but if you just need something simple then this is pretty great. 4 stars, hope this helps!
