KathrynKathryn: I have two cats who LOVE to scratch furniture. They destroyed my last couch. When I got my new couch, I figured anything was worth trying to keep them from tearing it to pieces. These thinks WORK. I placed the panels on each corner of the couch (the front and sides of the arms and the back corners) and left the back of the couch open. Even though the back is unprotected, they haven't tried to scratch any part of the couch since I've put these on. It's amazing.

The panels have been on for a couple of months now, and so far the adhesive has been enough to keep the plastic attached to the couch. Thankfully I didn't have to use the push pins, which was nice since I didn't want to risk ruining the upholstery. They haven't started peeling, even at the corners. You can see the panels from most angles, but IMO they don't look too bad as long as you apply them neatly. Possibly one of my best Amazon purchases yet.

M. M.: I have the most chaotic little house goblin of a cat who loves scratching my furniture no matter how many scratching posts I get her...this stuff did the trick really well. It blends in pretty well so it's not super obvious that the protectant is on. It's also good to use on carpet and around doorways if you have an animal that likes to scratch at carpet if a door is closed. Easy to cut to size, too.

Sharon: It does stop my cats from scratching but now they are trying to remove the pins so you have to ensure you fasten them securely.

Amazon Customer: I have 2 cats that like the sharpen their claws on the corner of the couch. Tired of them wrecking my furniture, I bought this hoping to deter them. These sheets are quite large and you can cut them down to size. The back is a sticker, and it’s just peel and stick. The little knobs to hold the piece in place was easy to install. I did cut a couple pieces to fit over the arm of the couch, and it wasn’t difficult to manage. All in all, I was happy with this product.
I do want to mention that I also bought couch covers to protect the couches, so these protectors are covered up. I prefer this look for aesthetic reasons because the plastic protectors are glaringly obvious.

V: These shields seem to work. Easy to modify. Lost one star because the furniture tacks included are a bit flimsy and bend easily if you run into the framing or a thicker area of fabric.

JesusDrivenLife: I bought the Stelucca brand shields because they looked the most see through (or unnoticeable) of all the ones pictured. They stick well, but the edges do try to come up, so definitely need the pins. I have caught my cat at least 4 times, and in reality probably, more like 6 times trying to scratch one part of the couch where I put them (front end of the arms. I seem to have lost the pins, so have to cover other places with a blanket or cushion until I can locate them or order more. It's a bit hard to twist the pins in, but, all in all, it does keep my furniture from getting scratched. I have been observing his other favorite spots to go at, so once I find or get more pins, I can cover those areas as well. Will buy more if needed.
