JT: What can I say, I have a super picky dog when it comes to eating. We have tried so many dog food it is so hard to count. We were introduced to these dehydrated patties when our neighbor brought them over because he had bought too many for his dog. Much to our surprise and delight, our dog loved them!
We do note give her as many patties per day as is listed on the package because that would be cost prohibitive, as these Pattie’s are pricey. We mix them with kibble. As she digs for the patties we break up into pieces Mayhem eats all in the bowl.
So glad we found this type of dog food.

Happy Pineapple: I love the 'raw diet' availability for pets without having to store 'raw' meat. The freeze dry option is great. I also love the convenience of these Stella "pucks" (as we call them in my house). My 10 pound Morkie with eat 1.5 pucks a per meal, two meals a day. She only eats when she is hungry so I break up and give her a puck and a half every morning. It takes her until dinner time to eat it all. Then she gets another puck and a half. By the next morning, she is ready for more.

I am fortunate that my Morkie is a 'grazzer" and doesn't eat all her food quickly, she eats when she is hungry. This is a great food to bring on trips. I put the right amount into ziplock bags (with some extras) and off we go.

Note: she won't eat these as snacks. If she isn't hungry for food, she won't eat these. She'll eat treats but not these.

edu-mom: My dog won't eat unless this stuff is sprinkled in with her food. And it has to be chicken. She turns her nose up at everything else. I was sort of worried when I first saw this, because it was recommended to me by her previous owner who adopted her out to me. When I first saw it, I thought, "What do I do with this?" I can understand why people think it's expensive. But really, one nugget can be crumbled up in one dish, and you've got a month's worth in one bag there. So if you look at it that way, it's not so bad. (Although my dog is small. Maybe a larger dog will need more.) It's fresh, and it smells like real meat - because it is. So if you want to give your dog good food, that's real food, this is it.

Donna L. Moseman: We rescued a Jack Russell mix six years ago. In the beginning she ate everything. After unlimited food in her supply chain and exposure to our picky Shih Tzu Poo, she became very picky. My daughter bought her this food at Petco one day and it sat on the shelf for a bit. I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. It looks odd. One day I grabbed the bag and read the instructions and my husband served it up. She gobbled it down like it was the first meal she’d had in days. That was a couple months ago. She has continued to eat this every day. She waits impatiently while it is prepared. I am so happy to have found a dog food she really enjoys!

Amazon Customer: My small Yorkie-Poodle is 2.5 years old and always showed avoidance to kibble. I have tried so many different things to encourage him to eat kibble - including different brands, soaking kibble, adding pumpkin, etc.. He was just not motivated to eat kibble. However, he is a food motivated dog as he does well with other (human) foods and treats.

My trainer recommended this item. It took a while for my dog to be open to trying it (probably simce we've had to try so many different foods in the past). But after about a month to open up to this, he now really enjoys this and once i put down his meal with this, he'll eat it with no fussing.

I love that i can cut the patties into smaller pieces. I tend to cut up 2 patties and take them outside to use a treats for his morning walks. He really enjoys sniffling for the small pieces in grassy areas.

I also like that i can add water to hydrate the patties. I usually add water as per the package instructions, salmon oil supplement, and a dried sweet potato chew.

He had his off days, but he now eats this fairly reliably in the mornings for his breakfast (he gets homemade meals for dinner so he has some variety). It...

Michi: My dog Fox just loves this Pattie’s so much! We use them as a high reward treats, as toppers for when she is being picky with her food or for enrichment games. They are great to break into bite size pieces when doing training.
We break them into tiny pieces and sprinkle them over her kibble, when she is being a picky eater.
I also love using these in her treat puzzles.
She really loves them so much and gets so excited for them.
They are over 90% meat and the other part is all great ingredients as well. My dog can have a sensitive stomach, but she does amazing with these.

Wrigley has been quite selective when it comes to food ever since we adopted him 2.5 years ago. It’s my opinion (and I’m not in the veterinary field) that Stella & Chewy’s is one of the highest quality commercial dog foods available; the ingredients are second to none. It was also the first real food we offered to Wrigley that he would eat right away without any encouragement. For a short period of time, we fed Wrigley exclusively Stella & Chewy’s brand freeze-dried raw food, but now I also buy Orijen and Primal. This would be an easy 5-stars BUT… (see my comment below for explanation).

•IMPORTANT: A negative review mentioned bone fragments in the food. I actually found one today, so I wanted to mention this as well. I do crumble the patty and remember having found fragments previously (not too often, but more than once), so I will be specifically looking for them in the future and I would recommend that you do the same. I have not noticed bone fragments in the other freeze-dried...
