JimK: If you’ve never tried the accelerator with the starbond ca glue then buy some and try it. One of the marvels of the day. When building instruments there’s always a situation to use ca glue no this stuff makes it easy to glue your item and hold until it dries.

S Heller: My main reasons for purchasing the CA accelerator this way is that I'm getting a full 16 fluid ounces in a single bottle with a pump-style "spritz" applicator. You get more accelerator for your money and the bottle takes up less space on your workbench than an aerosol spray can. Those big aerosol cans contain a mere 2 fluid ounces of accelerator by the way, and the rest is propellent.

Another plus to purchasing the accelerator in bottle this way is you can refill it when it's finally used up. The primary ingredient in the accelerator is acetone, a common solvent available at your local hardware store. There is a second ingredient in the accelerator (probably N,N,dimethyl-P-Toluidine), but it is a very small percentage in the overall volume. The pump style spray applicator can be reused, further reducing your cost and lowering the amount of trash you throw out.

The big warning to remember when using ANY CA accelerator is that it's quite flammable, so don't use it around an open flame.

mrhodusrx: I can hardly believe how quickly it causes CA glue to bond just about anything together! My can didn't come with a spray applicator tube. I thought that would be nice for applying to very small areas, but maybe the spray would dry and clog up the tube.??

DC: This works fantastic with star bond ca glue. place glue on one piece give the other piece a quick spritz with the activator and press together, make sure they are lined up because they are joined instantly.
