Emk: We heat with a wood burning furnace. The seal around the door wasn’t dong its job. My husband replaced the seal with this one. It’s working great. And we are pleased with the quality of the product.

Phil Murphy: I can’t recommend this product due to it failing after one year. I installed the gasket per the instructions and had to replace it this week with a different brand. After only one year on our wood stove, the gasket is extremely brittle and frayed. It no longer created an adequate seal on the wood stove leading to a smoke-filled home.

Amazon Customer: I bought this to install around the fireplace insert that I installed several years ago. I was never able to get really good draw into the insert because of a small gap around the outside edge of the fireplace and hearth. I installed this around the fireplace insert and now the insert seems to draw the air it need to burn a lot more efficiently. I gave 5 starts on everything even though the adhesive wasn't needed.

Adam CAAdam CA: The fiberglass that they used in this is like a cactus. The little shards got absolutely everywhere all over my gloves, all over my clothes, all over my drill.
I used it to seal up a diy powdercoating oven and it worked great. Next to no air escaping from the door now.
The cement it came with had a small pinhole in the tube. Even though I kneaded the tube for a few minutes it still came out very thick and chunky and runny. Not sure if the small hole in the tube had anything to do with the consistency or not. But it seemed to have dried fine and held good.
I used the cement to seal up the entire door (6'x3') so if you are worried about not having enough, theres enough to do about 18', probably even 20'.

Lisa : The adhesive in the kit was dried out and wouldn't come out of the tube. It is a good thing I had some adhesive left from a previous kit.

Madelene Caselli: Seems well made and does the job... It was easy to install... a no brainer actually... My wood stove door seal is as good as new now. Very pleased.

Arrived promptly and in perfect condition. I'm a super senior citizen and got 'er done in 10 minutes.

Maverick: This is a terrible product, or more specifically, the adhesive is awful.

There seems to be a problem with the way the adhesive is put in the tube. In the interests of fairness, I bought a replacement batch but both were the same.

It's as if the adhesive isn't mixed properly before being put in the tube, or has separated since being made. No instructions came with either kit.

First off I got a lot of the clear solvent coming out, that went everywhere, then the tube blocked up and by the time I applied enough pressure to unblock it, exploded out the end (try getting THAT off stone tiles) then a brief bead of adhesive, followed by more clear liquid solvent.

I tried 'mixing' the adhesive inside the tube with a wooden stick but it made no difference.

The only reliable way to apply the adhesive, over the course of two kits, was to cut the tube open, remove and mix the adhesive and the solvent in a bowl, and apply it with a tiny spreader.

To it's credit, in the end, it sticks like poo to a blanket, but it just wasn't worth the effort, the cleanup, the stress and the inconsistency.

Jon Ahlquist: The adhesive was a little hard to work with. But job went smoothly.

GWilliam: I replaced the worn cord on my wood burning fireplace. The glue is a little messy at first but once it was spread I placed the cord in the groove, made sure it was in place and cut the excess cord. Placed glue on the ends of the cord, and closed the door. The seal was great. Clean up was minimal.

K. C.: The rope is nice and easy to trim after glueing the rope in position. I watched a YouTube presentation of someone replacing a rope and this really helped. The only reason that I give this four stars is because the glue tube actually broke open. The tube is way too thin in order to kneed the glue out of the tube. It is also very thick and had a hard time coming out of the tube. After cracking the tube I put it on a paper towel and just squeezed hard and used a paint brush to apply the glue to the area where the rope was to go. In thin application the glue also dries very quickly. It was fine to use a paintbrush and just know that I would throw the paint brush away. It helped it application. Kind of a waste since I had to throw the glue away but it was fine because I knew I wouldn't need it again. The Rope is still glued in place so I guess it was enough.
