Fischoff: To put this in perspective, I live rural; the young cat, obviously born indoors, was dumped in the woods near my home; I live-trapped it, then neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped -- now the cat lives indoors with me (instead of outside needlessly whacking native wildlife) The eco-friendly litter I use is Smart Cat 100% Grass. In my never-ending efforts to reduce fossil fuel plastics in my environment, I was seeking a metal scoop. I rarely say Wow, but WOW, I'll never buy a slotted scoop again. Sturdy, the long handle is nifty, the design is smart, and the catbox is cleaner, faster. Cloud, The Cat is happy, I am happy.

mrBill: So, I had a real concern when I purchased this and that was the product's durability. I thought for sure it would be cheap plastic crap. I was buying this to clean chicken poop out of my daughter's boojey idea of coffee ground media. Surprisingly this thing is pretty solid. My only complaint is that the scoop is too small. But that's my fault, I wasn't boojey enough to purchase the bigger scoop. Rookie mistake. And if you're wondering, yes the coffee grounds do seem to be working. It's like kitty litter, scoop it every day for best results. And, since I like the coffee odor, it's pleasant to be near the coop. I just want coffee and eggs all the time now. It's a good thing I have chickens.

Deborah: I’ve been using this for a course grain sand litter in a chicken coop. It works well at scrapping off the “poo shelf” under the roosting bar and I use it to pick up some of the floor droppings. It is basically useless when it comes to collecting feathers. It seemed smaller than I expected originally. It has held up well for a few months now. I seem to get hand cramps while holding it. I’m not sure if it’s my hands, the handle size, or the handle shape. But my only genuine complaint with it is that my hand starts aching and then cramping after a few minutes of cleaning and I’m not using it with anything remotely heavy.

Henny: This sand-dipper is amazing! I have always struggled with clumping cat litter, but the sand-dipper is really good for scooping up the clumps. It is easy to get under the clump and lift it in one, with the clean litter quickly sifting back through into the tray. It makes cleaning the litter tray fun!
The long handle makes it even easuer to use!
