pbapba: These were perfect for my project, glued them to a galvanized box my dad made 50 + years ago, it really dressed it up and made it perfect height for table or to sit on. This box is outside but under cover these being stainless steel I’m sure they will hold up.

P. Larsen: If you like me have shelf-systems built with particle-boards that sits directly on the carpet, you may find this product useful. It will allow you to lift the system up above the base-board so it's flush against the wall, you can lift it to protect the carpet or just provide better stability. In my case replacing all shelves systems due to the carpet getting wet was all I needed to look for a solution.
This is affordable and easy to do. You WILL need to get screws of a size that aren't too long and will still bit into the wood. A cordless drill, a small drill bit and a short extender for the screwing head - and this is easy to do.
I saw a lot of complains that it's a thin shell with nothing inside. True - but the base screws in - allows you to adjust the size of the stand, it's simple and when standing still holding up a shelf system it will do more than fine. The load isn't on the side - so these are plenty strong.
All my shelves are attached to the wall at the top (so you cannot see it) and with these legs, it's rock solid. There's enough of a space to vacuum and no wood touches the floor. I could lift the shelf-unit high enough to clear the baseboard making...
