libertycornerkid: Bought this for my daughter who wanted a small edc. Very well made, I had to resist keeping it for myself.

danchise: I live in Chicago suburbs and want to carry something while I'm in the city. I originally thought the Kershaw Scallion was the answer, but I questioned the safety of the plastic blade lock and had issues swapping out the clip for a deep carry clip. This blade meets all my needs: very good quality blade (no issues with fit, finish or function), deep carry clip, good G10 grips and best of all designed for carry in Chicago. I have no concerns with this blade opening while in my pocket or with the liner lock mechanism. As the names suggests, buy this if you are going to Chicago. The price is a little high for what you get, but it's worth it to me since it met my specific needs.

Amazon Customer: This is great sized knife even if you don't live in Chicago. I had to down-size from a Spyderco Delica 4 due to new workplace regulations. But I've found that I grab the Chicago even when I'm not going to work. It's big enough to meet my needs, easier to carry, less "crazy" looking to others, and cheaper to replace if I happen to lose it. The leaf design puts a lot of steel into the short blade making it a lot tougher than other blades this length.
The Chicago's BD-1 steel (advertised as 440C but not complaining) wasn't quite as sharp upon arrival as the Delica's VG-10 - a careful shave on my arm was a 99% clean shave vs the Delica's 100%. That's still good enough for me and beats almost any other knife in this price range (the Delica is almost twice the price).
I like the G-10 handle material. It's thin, light, and provides a good grip. It's not as aggressive as Sypderco's FRN scales, but I'm guessing it's easier on your pants if you like to use the clip.
One thing about the clip - it's exactly the same size as the clip on most larger knives. That's great if you want a secure clip on your pocket, but for anyone worried about carrying it in an office, all people see is...

Amazon Customer: I feel compelled to review this little knife. I'm new to the Spyderco world...having first picked up a Tenacious and the Centofante III...I wanted a smaller knife that was a little dressier as well.
This knife fits the bill in spades! It is an excellent knife. The size is small, but not too small to comfortably hold in your hand and get a confident grip. The build is top notch from the G10 scales to the BD1 steel which was razor sharp out of the box. Loosening up the pivot a touch and it is extremely smooth to open once you get the feel for it (being a little smaller than other knives). I'm a huge fan of the wire pocket clip...wish all my models had it instead of the regular clip. Liner lock is solid and there is no blade play in mine.
Only gripe I would have with it is it would be nice to have jimping...but you can still get a nice solid grip without.
I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a small, well built EDC.

Jed: In case you are wondering, at some point in the run, the blade steel was switched to BD1. I emailed Spyderco customer support which wrote back and clarified that they made the switch but didn't make an announcement about it. The Amazon page still lists the 440 C steel and the Spyderco page has the 440 C listed in the top, but has had the text changed to CTS BD1 in the body. I was a little worried when it arrived and it was not the 440 C I was expecting but the CTS BD1 has proven to be (in my opinion) a better option so I consider it an upgrade.
This is a great little EDC knife, emphasis on LITTLE. If you work somewhere where having a large pocket knife makes people uncomfortable this is a great option. It arrived hair shaving sharp and the overall quality is exceptional. I had to loosen the hex nut for the blade pivot as it was slightly over-tightened, but somewhere between a quarter and eighth of a turn was all that took and now there is the perfect amount of tension for an easy flick to open while keeping it securely closed in my pocket.
I'm quite happy with this purchase, and would gladly by Spyderco again.
