Don: This replaced a failed regulator on my mig welder. I wasn’t sure about the needle valve style of flow control. I was used to the handle style. Also I had dial gauges so the new glass scale was new to me.
Installation was easy. It went together as it should, seems well made, and functioned properly out of the box.
I got used to the flow control right away, and found it much easier to control the gas flow than the old style.

Amazon Customer: I have had to return two of these regulators due to serious gas leaks. Despite the unit being well packed, the part that mates with the gas cylinder has minute dents and scratches on its sealing face. The sealing surface is metal to metal and sensitive to poor handling. These damages cause the high pressure gas to leak. The first one leaked so bad you could hear it easily. The second one leaked less than the first. There should be zero leaks with these products out of the box. Keep in mind that the gas leaked costs over 110$ CAN for a fill up. It is not packaging damage, the damage must be happening at the manufacturer before packing.

JJ: Decent value for a regulator. Really like the ball flowmeter which absolutely lets you know that gas is flowing (My Hobart regulator died after a year with a stuck needle showing gas flow when there wasn't any). My MIG welder worked really well after changing the regulator. I had to modify the outlet to fit my gas hose. I had a 3/16" i.d. gas line that would not fit the abnormally large (0.33" O.D.) barbed fitting. I ended up buying a 3/16" barbed fitting to CGA 032/033 and a 9/16-18 nut for 3/8" tubing to retrofit onto the regulator. Worked well. I see that competing brands (The same regulator body looks similar on many other brands) often have a smaller barbed fitting, but the pressure gauge is nice on the Sparc version.

Craig from Idaho: I purchased a pair of these to run on a MIG and TIG welders. My MIG is a combination Stick/Tig/Plasma cutter an my other is a straight MIG. I found that using plumber's tape really helps seal as I had to polish one tube connection to get it to quit leaking and it just makes good sense to make sure you have no leaks. Although I use 100% Argon in my TIG and a mixture of Argon/C02 in the MIG, gasses are not cheap so make sure you have a good seal by using warm soapy water to check any joints and connections. Once adjusted they seem to hold true and the ball meter makes it extremely easy to check your flow settings. All in all a good meter for the money and I would recommend for the casual to mid level welder.
