TRS: This is a super cute keyboard light. However, it does want to flicker sporadically. Otherwise, it's a very bright light with a good reach over the laptop keyboard.

T. E. Antis: One of my favorite images is Ed White doing the first spacewalk outside the Gemini capsule in 1965. So, when I saw this little thing, a small wave of nostalgia washed over me. That's probably the only reason I bought it.

It has a USB plug and tether to power it, and it throws a decent amount of light from its facemask. But I never work on my computer in the dark, and my keyboard lights up anyway. For me, at least, it has no practical purpose.

I don't want to dissuade anyone who may want to get one. There may be uses I haven't thought of. For me it's basically a tchotchke. But I think it's cool and I like it.

Dale "JR!": He's so top heavy, it gets annoying trying to keep him in a certain position, he's always falling over. After just a couple weeks it started getting hard to come on. The light would flicker like crazy, I'd have to mess with it for a while to get it in just the right spot so he'd stay on.

I finally threw it away a few days ago. I was sick of always messing with it to keep his light on. I loved my little spaceman but ultimately it's a piece of crap made in china. It is what it is.

Matt M: I saw these in a photo of someone’s modular synthesizer and had to have a pair of my own. They are not high-quality, authentically scaled or painted, industrial strength, adjective adjective but what they are is darned cute. The flexible lead between the plug and spaceman is plenty strong enough to support the light and keep it where it’s placed. Both of mine will get flicker-y when touching around the helmet area but I leave the visor open because they are on a power switch, so I just don’t mess with them.

I wouldn’t use them to read a book, they aren’t that bright, but they do add enough light to my rack to be useful when the room lights are out.

SBGSBG: I am very happy with this little spaceman. I bought it because I love geeky gadget things. It goes well with all the other quirky items I have in my home. The flexible gooseneck is firm and maintains whatever position you pose it in. I have read some reviews where people thought their astronaut was broken because it would not turn on once they opened the helmet. At first, I thought this very same thing when I tried turning mine on, but I quickly learned that you have to slide the helmet cover all the way to the back of the astronaut's head and then SNAP it into place. Once it is snapped properly, the light will come on. There is a small push-button on the backside that the helmet has to be locked into. You can push on the button with your finger, as well, but of course your finger has better things to do than to hold down this button all day long. So, I highly recommend the convenience of the locking helmet feature. I have small hands, and it is a little difficult for me to unlock the helmet when I want to turn the astronaut off, but I also struggle with pickle jars. First World Problems. I have not tried to read a book or study rocket science by the bright white LED glow shooting...
