R W Robertson: This is the book that filled all the spiritual and magical gaps left out in The Alchemist. Very rewarding read that covers all the bases of a good book. I’ve said to many friends that this was the most important read of the year, possibly the decade, in my reading list.

S. ChattopadhyayS. Chattopadhyay: Imagine you're someone who's apparently living a "normal" and "ordinary" life. You have a supportive family and partner, a job, studying a subject of your choice. Things are going fine. But there are some questions that keep burning inside your head : "Who are we?" "Why are we here in the first place?" "What is our ultimate destination?"
This novel is a beautiful blend of magick, wiccan culture, beauty of life and nature, and the idea of rebirth and soulmates. Through them, Brida finds her way to self realization.
The way of storytelling is soothing. Everyone is special. Everyone is born with a special gift. All we need is the urge to delve deep into ourselves in order to find that out. The only way of understanding universe is through self realization. Being true to ourselves is the key that unlocks all the hidden doors around us. You don’t need to have superpowers to feel the magic that surrounds you.
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty"
P.S. - i. true love makes you free.
....... ii. I so wish to have a bookshop like the one described here near me. ❣️

MJ Smith: This is Paulo Coehlo at his mystical best. I enjoy reading all of Paulo Coehlo’s books, even ones I don’t necessarily agree with completely, because I deeply admire his writing and messages about pursuing one’s path through life and what their journey means.
Next to The Alchemist, this is one of Paulo Coehlo’s great books. And like the Alchemist, it is filled with magic and mystery and mysticism.
The book focuses on a young woman named Brida. She has been trying to find teachers to guide her on the path of magic, to which she deeply feels drawn. She is brave seeking out teachers, and we go with her to meet The Magus, a renowned and mysterious mystic who lives in the forests. Brida is a wonderful character, driven to seek out her answers, but, nervous and fearful, as anyone would be. But she overcomes her fears because she is driven by something inside her to seek out these answers. And slowly, we begin to learn, as she does, that she is compelled to seek out these answers for a very good reason. She has been pursuing this path over many lifetimes, and something in her has to be reawakened in each life to continue. This is her destiny. And the Magus introduces her...

Jar: Although not familiar with a Wicca or a Magus, I became comfortably accepting of their presence in Brida's journey. Brida is a witch. She comes to the Wicca and the Magus to widen her circle of wisdom and knowledge. Her growth path became exciting and stimulated my imagination. Paulo Coelho easily strengthens those without understanding not to fear but to take up a blue cloak of bravery and to dance in your aura.
I especially enjoyed his call to nature. I know with more surety that the sky, flowers, meadows are God's free gift to me. All I have to do is drink it in. Shame can not keep us from experiencing it. Mistakes can not keep us from experiencing it because shame, mistakes are all a part of the goblet we must drink from without hesitation to enjoy the dance of life.Nothing is bad in life. All is good that comes to us.
I loved the part where Brida dances naked. She's totally free and unashamed welcoming love into her life. In Brida. Love is shared in one way or another page by page. When Brida dances without inhibition she is welcoming love. Love is "the bridge to the visible and the invisible".
As for the Magus, he will meet his soul mate again and again through the...

Brida: I have long been a fan of Coelho's work and have long waited for BRIDA to be published in English, so as soon as this was available I grabbed it. Having now finished it the question of whether it was worth the wait is an inevitable one.
BRIDA is the story of a young Irish woman, Brida, who wishes to learn about magic. At the very beginning of the novel, she meets a Magus from the Tradition of the Sun who teaches her about the Dark Night and who recognises that she does have a gift - he is just not completely sure what that gift is. Yet this marks the beginning of Brida's spiritual journey - to find out what her gift is and what her path shall ultimately be.
This path then leads her to Wicca, a woman who commands respect and stirs emotions within Brida that she does not always understand. Wicca takes Brida on as a student, teaching her the Tradition of the Moon.
So, BRIDA is basically the story of one woman's spiritual journey of self-discovery. Along the way she learns how to listen to the hidden music of the world and how she would be able to recognise her Soulmate. Brida also discovers that, as for anyone embarking upon a journey of self-discovery, the things that...
