In Croatia Airport, security took it as the point was considered a weapon

Scott: I twice bought a cheaper ‘tactical’ pen that came with a lot of refills, but then it would fall out of my pocket. I like the glass breaker feature but honestly get these robust pens because I like to carry a pen in my back pocket and don’t want it breaking on me and staining my pants. Tried this one for a change and because it was compatible with my remaining refills from the other pens. I think because this one’s a little lighter and ever so slightly smaller it’s been easier to retain in my pocket. Like the spring switch employment so much better than the screw mechanism the other pens utilized. Looks nicer too.

Amazon Customer: Great $20 pen. Bolt action is smooth. Pen writes smooth. Extra ink provided. What more do you want? I would buy it again.

HankHank: The frame is aluminum and light, but the actual bolt block in the back of the pen is made of something quite heavy, throwing off the weight balance. Feels a bit clumsy to write with. Still, good build quality and seems like a fair cost.
Could do with a lighter bolt, or at least counterweighting in front.

just a regular dudejust a regular dude: I’ve had my SmootherPro Bolt-Action Pen for a few days now and want to add my initial short-term review on it.
As suggested by others here, I’ve added thread-lock to the pen to help prevent the lost of components.
I also added a tiny drop of fine oil to the bolt mechanism and this has significantly improved the smoothness of the bolt action which initially was a bit gritty out of the box.
I can not speak on its “tactical” qualities, or about the tungsten tip, except to say that it is pointy, and that I am confident that either ends of the pen could do serious damage to a human.
In my experimenting, I have found an excellent gel ink refill to replace the original ball-point refill. More on that later.
Pros:
- The pen appears sturdy and feels good in the hand. It is 14.2 cm long, by 12mm wide.
- It has a nice balanced weight. The aluminum body has some heft, but not overly heavy.
- Nicely finished in a semi-matte black paint.
- No hot/sharp edges except a little edgy-ness to the L-shaped bolt hole, but this doesn’t get in the way or make it less fidgetable for me.
- Bolt-action satisfies my fidgeting nature.
- None to...

Rob FischerRob Fischer: I've only just got this pen in the mail today, but I'm quite pleased with it so far.
A lot of the other reviews say the pocket clip is weak, but mine seems quite sturdy.
It came with two black ink cartridges, they are the parker style but completely unmarked. They write well, but I can't comment on how long they last at the moment

Kevin: Compared to some of the more expensive bolt-action pens you can buy, this is pretty good value. It has some nice heft and the black aluminium looks pretty good. It's great that it can accept several different pen refills, particularly the fisher space pen refills. The bolt was a tad stiffer than I was expecting and the bolt stem ground against the pen housing a bit, but after a little use it wears in and now it slides smoothly. It is a little slippery and in addition to the heft of the pen I do find myself dropping it more often than I would like, but all in all a good pen.

Christy: It writes great, and the weight of the pen levels it out and makes it nice to write with. At first I had issues with it writing felt like it was drying up , there was film still on the tip of the pen and had to wipe it off really good. It was hard to see.
