Robert Castanon: I had these installed for a few years and they worked great. I could no longer find because amazon stopped selling them Then later this week the app stopped working and crashing after android update. I had to replace 10 of these with the KASA brand. I don't recommend these anymore.

City Boy: A couple of years ago I bought 4 Smart Life receptacles to control my bedside lamp, a living room floor lamp, Christmas tree lights and outdoor Christmas lights (yes, they work outside in Canadian winters!). I have multiple Lutron Caseta light switches which are great, but they're not cheap... about CDN$80 each, so when I saw Smart Life's switches for less than CDN$50 for two I decided to take a chance.

I installed them at my front door, one to control the inside light and the other to control the outside lights. Installation was pretty straight forward. You're going to be adding a few wire nuts to your box, which makes it quite crowded in there, but I got everything to fit.

I connected to the Smart Life app and the new switches were immediately available in Google Home and Alexa. I created a routine in Google Home to turn on the outside lights at sunset and turn them off at 11pm. The inside lights are programmed to come on if anyone rings my Google doorbell between sunset and sunrise.

When installing you need to have the LINE & LOAD wires connected properly... I initially had them reversed and the switches didn't work. When you're connecting in the Smart...

Kyle Good: Well, it works. Connecting the actual electrical connections was pretty easy. I'm accustomed to having the little screws that press in against your copper connection after you slot it in, but these have 4 lines coming out of the back with a fair amount of wire for each. It was fine to get connected electrically.

I'm not sure how easy or difficult these would be to mount to a normal new construction switch box, but mine is a bit atypical. I should have bought some longer bolts going into the installation. I just got it all hooked up and connected and was so frustrated with the stupid network process and their app... I wanted to leave a review.

In the heat of the moment, I was a bit hot. Ultimately, everything seems sound enough from a build perspective.

Anyways, connecting the smart bits. The app tells you that you are going to have to connect to a 2.5 GHz wifi network and that you are on a 5ghz network. I went through some extraordinary efforts to connect around that before finally just trying to use the "carry on" option. My Nest router broadcasts 2.5 and 5ghz wifi on the same SSID, so it ultimately connected.

So, if you've got an SSID broadcast with...

Zujer: It's a very convenient product and works well. However I have had issues a couple times where it got disconnected with the Google home and I have had to rest it. Otherwise it's working perfectly well.happy and would recommend.

Brian HayesBrian Hayes: Put a bunch of these in around the house in areas where teenagers seem unable to turn off lights. Made sure the box had a neutral wire first (it did), and went ahead and changed them out. Change was simple - an easy install if you know the basics of how light switches are wired. A quick Google search will help too, and you can be an expert in no time. Just please turn off the breaker before you start ;-)

Install was quick, and flipping the breaker on started them up in pairing mode. A quick config in the SmartLife app and they were up and running within minutes. Add Smartlife to Google Home, and Google picks them up instantly, assigns them to rooms, and allows you to control them from anywhere.

The Smartlife app is great too, and allows for timers, schedules, and IFTT integration. No more up and down the stairs to turn off the outside lights!

Picture shows 3 of them installed in a single 4-switch box. It would be tough to get 4 in here - I could do it, but I'd have to really clean out the box and do some better wire management. The fourth switch needs a 3-way as well, so these would not be an option.

The picture doesn't show it well, but when the lights...

Steven Alexander: Installation was pretty easy, assuming you have some basic working knowledge. The instructions did a far better job than most at visualizing what goes where. The app what the only issue. The instructions showed a picture of what the app looks like, but the app has been updated since. When adding a new switch, the option you want is "Switch (Wi-Fi)" under the Electrician tab. It won't always add the switch in the first try, and even then it might not actually save the switch. Too me a few tries to actually get it saved.

Then there's the integration. It'll work with Google Home by adding a new device, then searching by "Have something already set up?" Under "Works with Google". It's WAY down the list as Smart Life. That also too a few tries to work.

I know a lot of people hate on the app, but it isn't bad, honestly. I heard you can get it to work with Samsung Smart Things, but so far that's a mystery to me, and I specialize in smart home solutions!

Overall, great switch! I haven't a clue at it's longevity though, so we'll see. Great switch for the money, and cheaper that smart bulbs, especially if you have multiple lights on one circuit.

Cecilia Rose: You can use this with Alexa and Google voice with the software that is built in. However I preferred to flash with the great Tasmota open source firmware (google it). Don't like the proprietary software or communicating with servers outside your home ? Search youtube on Kuled wifi switch for a tutorial on how to flash this with Tasmota using a $10 tool, by removing 4 screws and plugging in a 4 wire riser board. Have flashed 10 with no issues. Tasmota allows you to add up to 15 timers for each switch, keep track of sunset/sunrise, emulate a Philips hue light, control the light by Alexa, all without having to setup an account with a server outside your home or even without having to setup a server like Home Assistant inside your network (though you can if you want to).

To use with Alexa, flash with Tasmota, navigate your browser to the switch's ipaddress (check your router for a "sonoff" device, go to Configuration->Configure Other->Emulation_>Hue Bridge. On same screen fill in the friendly name to what you want e.g., "Kitchen Lights". Open your Alexa app, search for a device, and add "Kitchen Lights". Done. "Alexa, turn on my kitchen lights". "OK". No need to use...

Doug: First off, I think this is a great product, works with Alexa and does exactly what it says it does. The issue is that every single light switch I have ever seen is a 2 Pole where it breaks the hot to the light. This configuration does not have a neutral run to the light switch. Only light switches that are in the same box as an outlet will have easy access to a neutral. Light switches in the same boxes and Outlet are perfect for this wi-fi switch install and require no extra work other than to run a wire to the neutral on one of the outlets. Please consult an electrician if all of this is Greek to you. Also, ensure that your outlet and light are on the same circuit breaker so you have protection off of the one breaker. If they are not on the same breaker you could have a situation where voltage could be on the neutral line even with one breaker off.
To install this switch in a standard to pole switch location, you will need to run a neutral line either too the light that it is switching or all the way back to the Circuit panel neutral. This neutral and the hot that turns your light on run the electronics for the Wi-Fi in the switch. The Wi-Fi switch then shares the hot with the...
