Love having two remotes, one for each end of hallway.
Works perfectly, right out of the box.

Bubba: Bought a new house and installed a disposal only to realize no one wired the plugs under the sink to the switches on the countertop. With this little guy, I was able to connect the plug to the switch and just use a 3M command strip to mount on the backsplash and it works perfectly to turn on and off the disposal as needed. Perfect fix to save from doing internal wiring and it looks great.

richard hopfner: First thing is that I thought it didn't work for me. "On" worked great. "Off" not at all. I contacted the company that sold it through the provided email address, and they actually tried to resolve the issue quickly, which surprised me. I honestly felt they were trying to get it working for me.
In the end if you buy this, and "Off" doesn't work for you, reset the plug as per the instructions, but program "Off" first rather than "On." My mistake when doing it was trying to set "On" first and then "Off." That little switch in process has it working properly for me. One star off because it wasn't in the instructions or the tech support help. Also I moved it to a spot where my body wasn't blocking the unit when pushing the button. That may help too.

ssolomon: Honestly, I love these. I have 4 of them in my house, controlling separate things, and they work pretty well. I really like not having to try to hard-wire things in places where it's too difficult. I do have a couple gripes with them, though.
The first is that they can sometimes be temperamental in terms of the switch turning the outlet on or off. I feel like it works about 96% of the time, and other times I have to press it multiple times for it to work. I also find that there's also sometimes a delay in the lights turning on. So I press the button and about 2 seconds later the lights turn on.
The other gripe I have is that the switches have set frequencies that seem like the can't be manually separated or reset. In my kitchen, I have a plug-in pendant light I installed over the sink, and I have a set of under-cabinet LED strip lights. These are on separate Dewenwils switches, and I want them to operate separately (so one switch should control one light, and the other switch should control the other light). However, when I ordered the switches, I saw that the back of them had a sticker with the code 0304. And lo and behold, both switches controlled both lights....

N***** M.N***** M.: I bought this product for my current place because my room has a light switch that doesn't control any of the outlets. I put one remote on each end of my room to control my lamp and it works perfectly.
The adapter is a bit long so it will have to go on the bottom outlet unless you don't need both outlets. The remotes are also nice because they are detachable but they don't fall off the mount easily. If you have kids, maybe this won't be a good option because of this feature.
My only qualm with this product is that it requires a 23A 12V battery so I would need to get separate rechargeable batteries and a charger if I don't want to keep buying new ones.

Mike: You have a transmitter (the wall switch) and the receiver (the plug for the item you want to control).
The wall switch is stylish, looking and feeling very nicely on the wall. I have placed mine next to actual wall switches. They do come out a little further on the wall than a standard wall switch.
These easily allow you to remotely control lights in a room without the need for an electrician to run wires through your house.
