ladudeladude: The media could not be loaded.  I put it together and couldn't stop crushing cans til I crushed 8 bags down to 1 1/2! I operated it at aout 80 psi and it worked well. Got a can stuck here and there but they were half crushed to begin with. No biggie though, I'd feel sorry for anyone who manages to have their hand in the way! The quick connect for air supply is real close but not a problem for me. Could put a spacer if needed as another review mentioned. Now as long as it goes the distance!

Dr. G.: Added 1/4" spacer under air coupler so I could attach/remove air hose much easier. Works like a dream.

Mal3D: I was confused, because so many people were saying that you needed at least a 5 gallon AC. I was leaning toward the Ultra Quiet 2 gallon compressor from HF. Finally, I read a review on a different listing that they were using a compressor with the same specs - 1.2 HP 135 psi ultra quiet 2.1 scfm. I can crush 20 cans before I need a break. The compressor just needs a few seconds to catch up. I crushed 3 and a half giant contractor bags full of cans with no problem. I wore out before the compressor did. The can crusher was awesome. I found that it still got the job done at 60 psi. I even ran it at that rate for a while to test it. So, for me, it didn't matter, if after crushing 20-30 cans that the compressor was down to 60 psi. It, also, didn't matter, because the dBs for the compressor are ultra quiet 60 dB. I hope this helps. I wish I knew this before I spent hours and hours reading compressor reviews wondering if I made a mistake in purchasing this can crusher as some of the reviews would have you believe that you need a massive and noisy air compressor to run it. Just ran the can crusher on top of a table letting the cans drop into a bucket. As the other reviews attest this is a...

300wsm: This is a fun tool to use, my kids love using it too. It makes simple work out of crushing cans. I used it to crush two 50 gallon garbage cans full of empty aluminum cans. I have it hooked up to a 25 gallon air compressor that is set to 120 psi. After about 20 cans the compressor was running the whole time. It took about an hour to crush all the cans I had piling up.
It seems that the air ram looses power at full extension. Also if you let up on the activation button the ram retracts.
The assemble was pretty easy and straight forward. I found hardest part was finding my tube cutter to cut the tube, which the instructions said was already cut. The tubing is very stout and not easy to make a clean cut without the tube cutter.
The tools needed to assemble it were an adjustable wrench (crescent wrench), phillips screwdriver, tube cutter, I used two adjustable wrenches to tighten the air fittings but you could also use a pair of pliers to hold the body that the fitting screw into.
I mounted mine on a stand so that the crushed cans can falls into a 5 gallon bucket. It crushes cans flat enough that a 5 gallon bucket of crushed cans equal a 50 gallon garbage can of uncrushed...

Jim Rask: Yes, there is some assembly required, but for most people that would think buying a pneumatic can crusher is a good idea, this shouldn't be a big deal. You also need an air compressor and an air hose coupler that works with the supplied fitting. I cut out a piece of plywood that was same size as top of my garbage can, added some wood scraps on bottom side, so the plywood wouldn't slide off, and then bolted the crushed to that. I then cut an opening that lined up with the ejection slot of the crusher, and I was all ready to go.

Adds excitement to the process of recycling. There is something relaxing about watching a can get compressed into a flat pancake. You can now get 40-50 lbs of cans into a garbage bag, instead of bringing them in uncrushed, where an entire truck load will net you $12. Much easier to stockpile and transport crushed aluminum.

**Side Note: Might work on some glass containers, but is not recommended or encouraged. Even after a triple dog dare, would I support such an attempt.
But a lightbulb.......no, don't do it. Broken glass is never fun to clean up.
